don't feel the need to read all of that just choose and read the awesomeness

now then, i played TWEWY and i noticed the feel of the game felt more like it could be an mmorpg, i felt like some other player(s) would come out and interact with me (this actualy happened with ingame chars)

so is there an mmorpg that shares certain qualities with TWEWY? share your knowlege plz

i don't want some random mmo that might be awesome but unrelated to TWEWY in any way here. this is for any mmo that has TWEWY qualities and (dare i say it) a possible game in the works with TWEWY qualities

i guess people can also type about TWEWY awesomeness too like "an mmo would be awesome if it has a class up system from player to reaper in the sense that reapers hurt players" and so on...

since it occured to me that this game is a year old (i just recently got this game though), i'll put more examples and my own ideas to stir up conversation...

an mmo that pits players with other players where one type transforms into the other?
(in reference to TWEWY, players, after wining the reaper's game, evolve to reapers and maybe back into players, like in the case of the main character neku, and reapers level up to eventualy be able to make missions for players)
having fun with this one, since "reapers" for this mmo would be normally higher leveled than players, they have abilities that summon monsters (noise) to attack players at the level of the players
also maybe players, when they are about to become reapers, can stay players to achive more skills and battle reapers directly or something, maybe to reach angel status-although that isn't to say reapers can't become angels through testing players properly
thinking about this in depth i guess a diagram is in order...
player---reaper---reaper that can set missions (TWEWY-game master)--------- angel(??)
\ ---superplayer---hyperplayer/composer(?)/extension of superplayer(?)--

an mmo where leveling up is only for HP,... increasing defence, attack, etc. to be based on weapons, armor/clothing, foods/potions?
(to reference, that is what happens in TWEWY)
adding to this, an mmo that has different brands of clothing/armor to give a style to the game(maybe some towns that in general love certain threads more than others, which gives you bonuses, which happens in TWEWY)

an mmo where you don't have to attack any of the enemies that come your way unless you provoke it?*granted some exeptions in missions or something*
(in TWEWY, you hear the noise *vague concept*, the enemy in this game, and pick out which noise to fight- exept taboo noise, which come to you)
adding to this travelling between towns you see enemies but they don't bother you if you choose, unless there's a reaper that forces you into battle

any more ideas or games that fit with parts of this?

if there was an mmorpg that works similar in any way like TWEWY... it would be a step forward at this point... so listing some games (from experience) would be nice...

for a striking similarity, however, it seems that i would have to make one myself... next year i'll be taking programing and hopefully i'll figure out the tedious details involved in making a game- probably make a deal with square-enix if details become sue-worthy- that is, unless i somehow make a game that's similar to TWEWY but has "nothing" to do with it

That's a very cool idea, TWEWY becoming a MMORPG...

But, the whole Reaper and Player thing would be a hard thing to come up with. I was thinking Reapers could be playable characters, so instead of classes, people may choose to play either as a Reaper or as a Player. But since Reapers are normally stronger, more people may choose to be as such. It would make sense for Players to become Reapers, like Beat was given the chose, but then, the game may be infested with Reapers. Because in games, most people just aim to be the strongest.

Noise being the monsters is a "duh". But, with what you were saying, Noise not attacking unless provoked or attacked, is just like the norm for most games. Taboo Noise are just the aggressive ones.

Since I'm playing a MMO right, I'm relating it to your ideas... (Ragnarok, btw). But I don't think the concept of the different brands of clothes exist anywhere... That does make sense, though, Towns having their own types of clothing, or in this case, armor.

Leveling up is about raising your stats: HP, attack, defense... but, depending on the game, the type and amount of stats vary. (I know this isn't really important, but, just saying~) Like, the game I'm playing now, Ragnarok, has 6 types of stats: Strength, Agility, Vitality, Intelligence, Dexterity, and Luck. STR: raises your max attack and (what I like about this game) raises your max weight (items have specific weights to them); AGI: raises your attack speed and dodge rate; VIT: raises max HP, Defense, and rate of HP recovery (which is really, every 5 sec (sitting) the amount of HP you heal grows); INT: raises Magic attack, Magic Defense, max MP, MP recovery; DEX: decreases the damage range (not the best term for it, but it's like, if you do 30~55 damage, the more you raise it, it'll be like 40~55, or w/e), increases Accuracy, decreases cast time (for mages, more); Luck (which is I think is cool): for every 3 points you raise, chance of critical increases, and for every 10, perfect dodge increases (I'm not really sure really sure what this is, but it has the word dodge in it...)


WOW. Sorry if that last part was too detailed or boring. That was all from memory too, so it took some time to write it too. I know you asked not to mention games that are cool, but have nothing to do withTWEWY like stuff that you listed, but you said you're taking a class in programming and such, so I thought it might've helped XD

well actually the reapers i was imagining in my head had a different form of "play" (mind you this is in my head, no serious plans or anything to get hopes up yet hehe... four years from now it may be possible though... maybe... [not?])

while players play standard (killing "noise", beating bosses, playing quests, etc.), reapers control an area, create an area/mini-dungeon, etc, to provide a challenge for players- in the game they weren't allowed to attack players head-on until the last day (until they were strong enough in this mmo?)... keeps that aspect the same from the game...

yes neku managed to fight reapers head-on, but i assumed that meant he was already a stronger form of player, which, (in this mmo i have in my head), meant superplayer or maybe just a player that passed the level where you could change into a reaper

obviously the idea is a work in progress since the game would debut with way more players than reapers (unless it becomes a start choice/race type thing... OR a choice at an early level)

hm... maybe people can just start off as reapers (lv 30 or something... at least until there is a decent reaper-to-player ratio)

well yea leveling up is for all of that hehe... i was thinking of a way to incorporate challenging oneself by re-adjusting one's level like in twewy... but now that i think about it... it sounds kinda awkward anyway hehe... unless i make this game more skill-based ... or hand-eye coordination skill based :P

no, tyvm for the comment- it brings me back and re-inspires me to think of an awesum twewy-like game... maybe some1 even gets inspired enough to make a game before i do lmao
