same here.. i started to learn japanese and am planning on climbing mt fuji next summer with a friend. what places are you looking at staying at? i havent been to japan so not sure if we should stay in shinagawa or what..

When I go back to Japan, I also plan on hitting up Akihabara to pick up lots of stuff for my camera, and as many gashapon goodies I can hold.
Then it'll be onto Shinjuku to this udon place I love so I can eat all the curry udon.
After than, I need to go to Edo Wonderland so I can play with ninjas.

I been seriously thinking about going to Japan. I don't see it in the cards this year, as I just started a new job, and I am teaching a Computer Science course in the evenings. Basically too busy. I am thinking of doing it in 2013, and saving up some vacation time to do two weeks+.
I had been toying with the idea of doing the trip alone, and trying to meet people along the way.
I am torn between spring for the Cherry Blossom festivals, or in July because I would love to see the Mitama Matsuri festival at Yasukuni Shrine. I dunno.
I'd also want to see Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara (Nara because I love deer a lot, and have about 6 that camp out in my backyard because I feed them all the time).

Any one the many places in japan were i can enjoy meeting people and make long lasting friends. All of japan is beautiful from the seasons changing the culture festival. I am looking forward to visiting this beautiful country sometime in the near future and I will be looking to enjoy the sites and sounds of japan.
