"What the hell are you doing?!" Aiden shouted, as he grabbed Eira. He quickly pulled her away, and Eira flew back, taking a leg of the repulsive monster with her. The "thing" hadn't budged at all. It was still on her face, and the only thing different was its missing leg. But Aiden's mouth fell open as a new horrid leg started growing out of the hole from the old one. "God, what is this thing," he whispered, horrified.

He wanted to kill it, but he didn't know what effect it would have on Annette. He wasn't going to take any chances. But he hated how it was crawling all over her. It was gross and disgusting. Suddenly, Annette's mouth opened, and she began to scream, over and over again. Then she started to shriek his name, and at that moment, all of her thoughts slammed into his mind. He fell backwards in shock and horror, as he saw the events unfold in his thoughts. He heard a shocked gasp near him, and he guessed the others must have seen it too. He wanted to puke. Annette had never told him how her parents had died. Well now he knew.

As suddenly as the screaming had started, it abruptly stopped as well. Aiden quickly stood up, and watched in horror as Annette slowly sat up. It wasn't normal. All her body parts were hanging uselessly limp, and it seemed like her head was pulling her body up. The monster climbed onto the top of her head, leaving her face completely visible. Her eyes were no longer opened, and they were closed as if she was sleeping. Her mouth was closed as well, but blood was still dripping down.

The thing pointed its numerous eyes, all at the direction of Eira, Fin, and him. He watched as one by one, they started to light up, turning each eye blood red. The black threads covering Annette's throat began to glow red as well. Annette's mouth opened, and out came a horrifying voice, that was indescribable on so many levels. "Hello Ringmaster and Guardians," it cackled. "I hope you don't mind me borrowing this girl's body." The web had begun to spread faster and faster, and soon, it covered every inch of Annette's face. It looked like she had tattooed her whole body with a spider web design. It looked creepy, and all the black clothes didn't help either. Annette's eyes opened, and they were completely red. You didn't even see the whites of her eyes.

"It's using her as a host..." Aiden said out loud, as he realized the horrifying truth. Annette, or rather the monster, cackled again, "You are correct! And of course, if you try to forcefully remove me, this girl shall die as well." An evil smile broke on Annette's face. Aiden clenched his fists in anger. How dare he!

"What the hell are you doing?!" Aiden shouted, as he grabbed Eira.

Eira quickly dropped the leg and smashed it with her foot. Why had Aiden pulled her back? Fin warped into his human self, and grabbed onto Eira's arm pulling her back. Annette began to scream, Aiden's name could be heard in those screams. Eira an Fin stood helpless, only able to watch. Then a memory washed over Eira and Fin. Before there mind was engulfed by the memory the saw Aiden fall backwards.

Eira didn't need reminding of this particular memory, it was burned inside her, and placed through out her body. She wasn't sure what Aiden had seen, but she knew what she had seen. That night. The night her parents were slaughtered.

Eira felt nausea set in when Annette rose, it was so unnatural; it reminded her of the zombies from the old movies she loved to watch.

"Hello Ringmaster and Guardians," it cackled. "I hope you don't mind me borrowing this girl's body."

Eira and Fin realized what was happening instantly. As Annette began to be consumed by the spider web design Fin pushed Eira even farther back; his defensive sign setting in. And when Annette's eyes opened Eira gasped. Blood red eyes. This was nothing good.

"You are correct! And of course, if you try to forcefully remove me, this girl shall die as well." An evil smile broke on Annette's face.

Eira fist clenched together robotically. She did not know Annette, not at all. Only that she was shy; but this was unforgivable. She looked over at Aiden, his emotion indescribable. Eira spoke smoothly, and as calmly as possible, "Aiden, we have to kill her."

"Aiden, we have to kill her."

"I'd like to know who 'her' is," Aiden hissed, his glares directed at both the monster and Eira. "If you're talking about 'that', then yes. If you're talking about Annette, then no. I absolutely won't let you. If this were you, I'm so sure Fin would let me kill you." he said, spitting out the last sentence with plenty of sarcasm. His teeth were clenched, and his eyes were filled with rage. He was holding himself back from grabbing the hideous monster, throwing it on the floor, and smashing it repeatedly with his foot.

"Now, now, don't get any funny ideas," the monster cackled. "Try to kill the either of us, and the sight will not be pretty. I can spread my regenerating cells into your bodies the moment we die, and soon, you guys will end up just like this pretty girl." It let out a disgusting long laugh. Aiden wanted to kill it. The moment "we" die? That sentence pissed him off. It disgusted him how the monster thought that it and Annette were already a package deal.

But before he could react, Annette/the monster's hand started moving. The monster let out a surprised gasp. "What's going on?!" it screeched. The hand was trembling, as it painfully headed towards the throat. Aiden's eyes widened in surprise when Annette's red eyes started flickering back to normal, then going back to red again. He noticed that the spider monster's various red eyes were beginning to flicker as well. "Don't tell me you're losing control of her?" Aiden asked shocked.

Eira blinked at Aiden several times before replying, "Of course I mean 'that' I would never kill one of my own! Except for the bastard who we are hunting." Fin glared at Aiden, the situation was bad tension was already rising. "I would hope Fin would not allow something, he would die as well." Eira was about to say more but the parasite that was using Annette as a host began to speak.

"Now, now, don't get any funny ideas," the monster cackled... you guys will end up just like this pretty girl."

Eira quickly began searching every part of her mind for a way to kill a Lucifer who had already taken over a human host. Without harming the human. Granted, Annette was a Ringmaster and stronger than your average human, but what ever method you used should be the same. But Eira could remember no method. Her mind was blank. And at such a time! Eira was rapped up inside her head when Fin directed her attention to Annette- or the Lucifer- they both saw flashes of Annette inside of there. Her eyes returning. Hope rose inside them quickly, but was lost when the eye turned red again.

"Don't tell me you're losing control of her?" Aiden asked shocked.

Eira turned to Aiden, "Aiden, can you feel her? Not only her mind, but her." Eira put extra emphasize on her, in attempt to explain what she was trying to say.

Eira turned to Aiden, "Aiden, can you feel her? Not only her mind, but her."

He clenched his teeth in concentration and replied, "I'm trying... Don't get surprised if I don't answer you for a while." His eyes glazed over as he slipped into her mind. He was no longer mentally in his body, but rather in Annette's mind. Whenever he and Annette had talked like this, they were always in a grassy field, the weather beautiful and gorgeous flowers always surrounded them. Her mind had always been such a peaceful and calming place, but it was like that no longer.

He could see nothing but an endless blood red web. He made his way through the threads, and tried to find Annette. After what seemed like forever, he finally found her. His eyes widened at the sight, and he clenched his fists in anger. She was tangled almost suffocatingly in the web, the threads pulling at her everywhere. As Aiden approached her, Annette lifted her head up to see him. Her eyes were glazed over and blank, almost as if she were dead. Tears were constantly rolling down her face, never ending.

"Annette...?" he said cautiously. "Leave." she immediately responded. Her voice contained no emotion and sounded hollow. "No." Aiden immediately replied as well. She remained silent, knowing he wouldn't leave until he wanted too. "You know how bad of a situation we're in right? We can't get rid of it without killing you. And even if we did kill it, it'll just find a new host from one of us, and the whole thing will start over again." he said, reporting the situation. "I know that much," she hissed, "But I know of a way you guys can get rid of it, without killing me or anything else." Aiden sighed, "And by anything else, you mean the monster as well?" She nodded, "We shouldn't kill the monster. This isn't any plain old Lucifer. It's different than anything we've ever seen before. Sealing it and bringing it back to the MHC for investigation would be a good idea." Aiden nodded his head in agreement and said, "Okay, tell me what to do."

- - - - -

Aiden's thoughts returned to his body, and his eyes blinked a couple of times to adjust. The whole process had only taken about 5 minutes, although their mental conversation had taken about an hour. Without looking at Eira and Fin, he walked straight towards the monster, who was still resting on Annette's head. Without hesitation, his arm shot out towards her neck. The monster screeched in surprise, but Aiden ignored it. He ran his finger over the various threads, trying to find the thickest one. "What are you doing?!" the monster yelled over and over again. He concentrated, and after a few seconds he finally found it! "I'm sorry Annette," he whispered, then he picked the thread up between his thumb and forefinger, and pulled. The thread barely budged, so he tugged harder, but making sure not to break the thread. If he broke the thread, Annette would be gone forever. He tugged repeatedly, until finally the thread moved. He slowly began pulling it out, and the web began to slowly unravel. The monster screeched not in surprise, but in pain. He clenched his teeth in concentration, and he watched as the tight web like design around Annette's body loosened. Soon, there were only piles of thread around her, no web in sight. Annette had told him that the web was not made from various threads, but only one single thread.

When he looked up, a smile lit on his face. Annette's eyes were no longer red, but back to their usual sea-green beauty. Pain was etched into her eyes, and that quickly wiped the smile of his face. Suddenly, the spider monster leaped towards Aiden screaming, "If I can't have her, I'll at least have you!" Before the thing could land on Aiden, Annette shot her arm out and grabbed it. The thing struggled in her grasp, shot out 5 black fangs, and bit into her hard. She shrieked, but the grasp on the monster stayed firm. Aiden's eyes widened in horror as the thread began to form into a web again.

"Just pull it out!" Annette screamed at him. "But then you'll-" "I don't care! Just pull the damn thing out!" she screamed again. Aiden sighed exasperated, but he still pulled on the thread. As he pulled the thread out of Annette's throat, she worked hard on containing her screams. It felt as if someone was slicing her repeatedly. Aiden flinched every time a sob escaped her lips, but he kept on pulling. A pile of thread began to grow on the floor, and the pile around Annette's body was beginning to disappear. Soon he reached the end of the thread, but when he pulled, the thread wouldn't budge. "Pull harder." Annette instructed, her voice shaking from pain. Aiden hesitated, but pulled harder. With a sickening sound, the end of the thread finally pulled loose, and escaped Annette's throat. He saw it was soaked in blood, and he looked at Annette with horror. "Don't tell me..." he whispered. She smiled sadly, and motioned towards Aiden's had. He reached out, and she pulled the monster out of her hand, leaving holes in the spots where its fangs had been. She dropped the limp thing into Aiden's hands, and she stumbled towards the bathroom. Aiden just looked at the monster in disgust. He looked up at Eira and tiredly said, "Do you think you could seal this? We need to bring it back to the MHC for testing..."

- - - - -

In the bathroom, Annette hurled blood into the toilet. The stupid monster had hooked the main thread into her vocal chord. She knew what was going to happen after Aiden pulled the thread, but she didn't tell him. She knew that if she did, he wouldn't have done it. Either way, it was done, and her voice was forever gone. She softly felt the small hole in the center of her throat slowly closing. Stupid ass of a monster.

While she was trapped inside her own mind, she had seen and realized so many things she didn't want to. She had never wanted to see her parents murdered in front of her own eyes ever again. Everything that had happened was true. Lucifers don't make people lie. They make people tell their darkest feelings that they were trying to hide. When her father had told her to die, he had really meant it. Tears streamed down her face, and she quickly wiped them away.

She scrubbed her face with water, fixed her hair, cleaned and bandaged her hand, and left the bathroom. She ignored everybody else as she grabbed an oversized hoodie and a pair of shorts from her bag and ran into the bathroom again. She threw off her clothes and shoes and pulled the huge navy blue hoodie over her head. After pulling on her shorts, she slipped into her Converse once again, and picked up the piles of clothes on the floor. She left the bathroom, dumped the dirty clothes into her bag, and took a seat on a chair. She looked at the floor, not knowing what to say. More like, she couldn't even talk anymore.

He looked up at Eira and tiredly said, "Do you think you could seal this? We need to bring it back to the MHC for testing..."

Eira took it, her face stiff, and started toward the area of the plane that had everything a Ringmaster would need. As she started to prepare it for the trip Fin stepped behind her. "So... that was pretty much disgusting." He whispered in her ear. She nodded, agreeing with him. When she finished with the Lucifer she turned to Fin.

"Would you mind if you gave me hug?" She wasn't looking at Fin, but at the Lucifer. Fin smiled, and rapped his arms around her; she rested her head on his shoulder. "I think I'm going to be sick." Eira said into Fin's shirt. Slowly, Fin pushed her away from him and looked into her eyes. "If you throw up on me you'll regret it." Eira smiled and looked around the quickly. Fin took the Lucifer from her hands as she bent down to a trash can and got rid over her previous meal.

There was so much blood.
Eira sat against the wall after she was finished.

I know. I was there.

I want to go home.
Eira stood from her spot and wiped off her mouth.

What home?"

The dead one.

Then I guess we can't go back. Can we?

And then Eira started laughing. What funny? Fin asked her. She went onto her knees and kept laughing until her stomach hurt. "What is funny Eira? What is so funny that you are laughing now?" His voice wasn't angry, just confused. She smiled up at him, tears dripping from her eyes, "Isn't it all so tragic?" Fin bent down to her level and took her hands. "I guess it is tragic." He spoke softly. Eira pulled her hands away from his, "I d-didn't wish for this. I s-swear I didn't." Her voice still cracked with laughter. Fin looked at Eira startled, and then remember their conversation earlier. "I know you didn't." He quietly kissed the Eira's forehead. "I don't love you." Eira looked away from Fin, and to the wall. Her laughter finally stopped. He stood and turned away from her, "I know you don't."

Fin went to the seating area, holding the Lucifer far away from him. Eira was a minute behind him, and took place at her old seat in front if Annette, but said nothing. What could she say? Her mind was blank. Fin went to Aiden and held the wrapped up Lucifer in front of him. "What the hell do we do with this?"

"What the hell do we do with this?"

Aiden sighed as he took the Lucifer. "I have no idea. What do we do An-" he quickly stopped mid-sentence, clenching his teeth. He made a mistake. He laughed out loud, startled. What was he expecting? A verbal response? That wasn't going to happen, and he knew it. He just realized that he'd never hear her melodic voice or sweet laughter ever again. Never will he hear her cry when something happened, scream when she got enraged, or her tired voice uttering nonsense in her sleep. He stared at an empty seat, still holding the Lucifer.

- - - - -

When Annette heard the question, she had opened her mouth to respond. When nothing came out, she had quickly shut her mouth again. Suddenly painful thoughts filled her mind. Images of her laughing, crying, singing, talking, screaming, and so much more. Her head snapped towards Aiden. The thoughts belonged to him. She knew he was blaming himself. She quickly stood up and embraced him in a small hug. He remained still, not hugging back. She stepped away with a sad smile, and took the Lucifer out of his hand. As soon as she lifted the weight, his arm fell limp to his side. He slowly walked to a seat in the far corner, and slumped down.

Annette bit down her bottom lip, and tears fought to escape her eyes. She blinked them away, and kindly smiled at Eira and Fin. Thank you. she mouthed. She walked over to her bag and pulled out a small wooden box. She quickly placed the monster inside, locked it, and stuffed it in her bag somewhere. She rummaged around her bag some more, finding what she was looking for. She took out a new sketchbook and a marker. She flipped to the first page and wrote something down. When she finished, she faced the sketchbook so the others could read what she had wrote.

Are you guys hungry?

She wasn't fond of this idea. It was so.... embarrassing. But she knew Aiden wasn't in any state to talk for her. She smiled tiredly, waiting for a response.

Are you guys hungry?

Eira looked at the sketch book, with Annette's thoughts written on it. She then realized what had happened. She hadn't before; she didn't know that Annette couldn't... talk. She turned away from her, upset, rubbing her eyes.

Why the hell am I upset? She is the one who can't talk? I shouldn't be complaining, or being bitchy. Eira scooted closer to the planes window, not wanting to look at Annette. Thank You. Eira nor Fin deserved it. What had they done but stand there and watch?

"Nah, we aren't hungry. Thanks though." Fin voice slid through the air, and Eira cringed. Love. Always a sensitive subject between them, and her she was, poking it with a stick. From the windows reflection she saw Fin retreat from Annette. It was strange to both of them, after everything that had just happened things seemed almost normal. Still Eira did not know what to say to Annette. So she stayed silent. Eira's arm slid down and grabbed her marriage magazine, she flipped it to page and began reading.

Annette nodded, and put the sketchbook down. She wasn't that hungry, but she was craving something sweet. She stood up and headed towards the plane's kitchen/staff lounge. Most of the staff members were sitting down and chatting, or watching TV- oblivious to what had happened in the passenger section. She knew the kitchen/lounge had sound proof walls, giving privacy to the staff and the passengers, so it was pretty obvious that hadn't heard any of Annette's screams or anyone elses for the matter. They were better off not knowing what had happened.

When a chef noticed her presence, he immediately stood up and said, "Miss Annette! How can I help you? You should have just called us instead of bothering yourself to walk all the way here!" He had a kind smile on his face, and she blushed. Way too many people in this room. She stood frozen, not knowing what to do. The staff had already been notified by Ellie about Annette's behavior, so the chef wasn't surprised. He just waited patiently for an answer. Knowing she couldn't speak, she managed to just pointed sheepishly at the platter of freshly baked pastries cooling on the kitchen counter. The chef smiled brightly and handed her the whole plate.

She walked back into the seating area, balancing the heavy platter loaded with pastries. Aiden looked up, and rushed over to help. He took the platter out of her hands and placed it softly on the bed. There were a variety of pastries on the huge tray, and all of them looked delicious. She sat down, and immediately reached for a chocolate glazed croissant. She bit into it, a bright smile on her face. Aiden watched her happily munch on her pastry, and he took a seat on the bed as well, sighing. He had no idea how she could smile after what had happened.

Suddenly, Annette stopped eating, and she immediately dropped the croissant. Aiden looked at her worried. He watched as she quickly picked up her sketchbook and scribbled furiously. She hurridly flipped it over, showing him what she wrote.

Eat!

Aiden laughed, and he grabbed a glazed donut. She stompted her foot impatienly, and she pointed at Eira and Fin. He rolled his eyes and said jokingly, "Guys, I think you should eat. If you don't, I have a feeling she'll throw something at you." Annette nodded furiously, agreeing with him. Then she picked up her croissant and resumed to happily munching on it.

Eira looked away from her magazine and to the platter of food, "I don't like sweets." She turned back to her magazine and turned the page. And, really, she did not like sweets. Eira had always been a health freak, but Fin, he loved sweets.

Fin had been considering warping back into his lion form, but at the mention of sweets he forgot the idea completely. It was easier to eat small things in his human form. He sat on the side of the bed, not really sitting next either of the two. "Well, I don't want anything thrown at me." He quickly snatched a miniature cake that had a strawberry sitting on top of it.

"Eira, my Swan, do you want my strawberry?" Eira looked up from her magazine once again and stood. "You know I do." She hopped over to the group and sat close to Annette, far from Fin. She grabbed the strawberry from his fingers and ate it. She looked up and hummed. "Best strawberry ever." She singed.

Aiden smiled lightly, relieved that the tension had disappeared. Annette opened her mouth to laugh, only to quickly shut it again- hoping no one had noticed. Instead, a bright smile lit her face, and she grabbed a cube of raspberry cheesecake. She popped the whole thing in her mouth, enjoying the sweet taste.

Aiden had noticed when she opened her mouth to laugh, and he too was expecting the usual sweet sound to come flowing out of her mouth. Then reality had hit them both, and she closed her mouth, while he wiped the smile off his face. A bitter frown replaced his smile, and Annette noticed. She gave him a warning look as she munched on her cheesecake. He laughed at her expression, getting the hint, and replaced his frown with a small smile.

Annette grabbed her sketchbook again and wrote:

What do you guys want to do?

She grabbed another cube of cheesecake and popped it into her mouth.

Both Eira and Fin noticed Annette close her mouth to "silence" the laugh the would never come, and Aiden frown at the thought of never again hearing her voice. This was no time for pretending that everything was fine and dandy. There was a serial killer Ringmaster on the loose; Annette would never be able to speak again, and they had some unknown powerful Lucifer with them. Definitely not a happy day.

"Look you two, you don't have to pretend to be happy for our sakes. And even if your not pretending for us, and for some other reason I can't think of now, just don't. Life sucks, and we have to accept that and accept what is now," Eira picked up another strawberry that lay on a cake, "so if your upset just be upset. Put on a frown, but as my mother use to say, "only five Mississippi seconds." That is all the time you got." she pushed the strawberry into her mouth and swallowed it whole. Fin nodded his head in agreement and picked up one of the cheesecake squares that Annette seemed to be enjoying.

Annette rolled her eyes and popped a piece of fudge into her mouth. As it melted in her mouth, she scribbled in her sketchbook. She held it up so everybody could see.

I'm not upset. Not anymore at least. I'm over the whole "I'm never going to be able to talk again" thing, and I'm seriously moving on. So Aiden, be a man and accept that fact already. Moreover I'm bored. There's at least 10 more hours until we arrive at who knows where.

Aiden scoffed, " 'Be a man'? I'm not even a man. I'm a wolf for God's sake." Annette rolled her eyes and threw her marker at him, which he easily dodged. "And rather than being bored, shouldn't you report to Nathaniel about what happened?" Annette's nose crinkled in disgust at the mention of "Nathaniel".

"And rather than being bored, shouldn't you report to Nathaniel about what happened?"

Eira doubted it highly that Annette was just over it. Eira knew that if she was in Annette's possession she would be beyond depressed.

"Nathaniel? Who is that?" Fin asked confused.

Eira stood from the bed and went back to her chair. She had her fill of fruit and felt like she was being chocked by the sweet scent of cakes. She did not pick up her magazine again but instead closed her eyes. She was tired suddenly and she needed a small nap. It would probably be best if she got sleep before they reached their destination .

"Nathaniel? Who is that?" Fin asked confused.

"The President," Aiden replied. Annette pretended to gag. This time, he was the one to throw the marker at her. Suddenly, the big TV at the front of the plane flickered on, and a familiar voice yelled, "HELLO HELLO! HOW IS EVERYBODY?! I'M HOPING EVERYTHING IS GOING WELL? WELL COME ON, MOVE TO THE FRONT OF THE PLANE SO I CAN SEE YOU!" Annette's face immediately went emotionless, and a mask settled into place. Aiden frowned and said,"Speak of the devil..." as he grabbed Annette's hand to drag her to the front seats, where the TV screen was located.

After making sure everyone was seated, he exclaimed, "SOOO HOW HAS EVERYTHING BEEN GOING? WELL I'M SURE NOT MUCH RIGHT? AFTER ALL, YOU'RE IN A PLANE! WHAT COULD GO WRONG? NOT INCLUDING YOUR PLAIN CRASHING OR GETTING RAIDED AND ALL THAT STUFF."

He couldn't have been more wrong...
