Stanley Winston (April 7, 1946 – June 15, 2008) was an American visual effects supervisor, make-up artist, and film director. He was best known for his work in the Terminator series, the Jurassic Park series, Aliens, the Predator series, Iron Man and Edward Scissorhands. He won a total of four Academy Awards for his work.

Winston, a frequent collaborator with director James Cameron, owned more than one effects studio, including Stan Winston Digital. The established areas of expertise for Winston were in makeup, puppets and practical effects, but he had recently expanded his studio to encompass digital effects as well.

I am doing research on Stan Winston for Film Studies. The title is: An exploration of Stan Winston as a visual effects auteur.

I just want to know about how films including his special effects has changed or inspired you when you watched them.
Did they scare you? were you impressed? or maybe you thought they looked a bit dodgey and that his special effects are outdated now? Did it enhance the viewing of the film for you?

Here is a list of some of the notable films he has done:

Don't know much about this kind of stuff... But I was really impressed by some of his work. I don't think they're outdated. They kind of have a feel to them that can't really become outdated, imo.

Also, he's moe. :3 *has a thing for moe old men, stfu*

I must admit, his works are very impressive! I also don't think they're outdated, I don't see how it is outdated. When I first watched Jurassic Park, I was a little kid, and the effects did scare me.

HE did a superb job with special effects for box office movies...he will be missed. Who knows of what other animatronics he could have created if he was still alive and well.
