Just went to the DMZ a few days ago, heres a few pictures:
The Freedom Bridge
The map of the most important part of the DMZ.
Destination:
Here we are :
He (DPRK Soldier) snapped to attention when we were allowed to take photo's. Also if you notice the concrete in the middle thats about a foot wide, the barrier between the dirt and gravel, that is the absolute middle of the demarcation line.
Hopefully thats as close as I will come to ever seeing a North Korean soldier again.
The microphones are in the absolute center of the demarcation line, so if you go past them you are in North Korea. Kinda cool in a way.
Overall an enlightning trip. I learned a bit more about the history of the Korean wars, some of the news going on that even I don't hear about from a few of the South Korean's was surprising, especially around here the DMZ area.
(In case you didnt know, or it wasnt obvious enough, the ROK soldiers wear helmets.)
I respect the ROK soldiers and the Army for having the guts to be right here on the front. Im also proud to serve with them all here. As their motto goes "In Front Of Them All"
Ive got more pictures If you guys are interested.
Later!
