Ever had a Relationship Broken Off because of Anime?

I was just wondering if anyone else has ever found being an anime fan a problem in a relationship. I am asking because recently my fiance broke off our engagement. I am sure that this is (partly) due to the fact that I am a big anime fan. She always said it was childish and expected me to "grow up" when we got married. She actually never would watch any with me and wouldn't tell anyone else that I was an anime fan. In most other aspects, I have been told by my friends (and hers!) that I was a really good boyfriend. Has anyone else run into something like this?

Nope, nothing like that has ever happened to me...
But If my fiance was an anime fan and I wasn't... I would probably have done the same thing -____-

Shouldn't this be in the anime section?

If that's the case, than some people's lives must revolve too much around anime if it interferes with your social and love life.

Unless you're an extreme anime fan, I think she's being stupid.

Nope. Depends on the persons. If they don't want to give it a chance and sit down for a glorifying episode of Rurouni Kenshin, then you've got a problem.

This hasn't happened to me but I have friends that absolutely hate anime. I wouldn't be suprised if they have never seen any of the really amazing ones out there otherwise its just ignorance and bigotry toward a group of people that ranges in the millions

Seriously, she's the one who needs to grow up and realize that everyone has a right to have their own likes and dislikes. If she (or anyone) isn't willing to compromise and at least try to sit down for a few minutes and see why you like it so much then (imho) she deserves to be alone. She's in for a rude awakening, people on a whole don't like to be controlled or made into robots who all like the same things

No.

Also, what is that girls problem? That's such a stupid reason to break off an engagement.

I thought if you really loved someone you'd just want to be with them, an anime fan or not.

No .

I'll probably dump her first for being unrealistic and lame .

Ouchies, I feel for you. But you have to consider this, if she can't compromise over something that you like, what will she be like when the s**t hits the fan.

Nope. If I wanted a relationship that would not break off because o that I would find someone who likes anime, pure and simple.
