we all hear the classic "i cut myself" which i'm sorry to say, i do that too, but for different reasons, but coping is an important skill we must all have....and i and so many others on this site i'm sure, need help and ideas of different and effective ways to cope,

for me personally, i tend to withdraw from the rest of the world and end up spending all of my time in my room, playing games, sleeping, drawing (sketching actually), and writing poetry.

Your still young (younger than me DAMNIT) and you've got assloads of time to try tons of new stuff. It's a mindset and you'll get over it as you grow older, or just learn 2 deal with it, or both.

Don't "find" a religion, it's the cheap easy way out.

I sleep. Sleeping will tend to make me calm and level my angerness (<--- not a word but w/e)

I tend to clean the house, and/or work out when I am upset. My house is now almost always spotless and I am in very good shape. So there are definitely positive bonus' from releasing aggression and easing angst my way.

If you have the right mindset you can force yourself not to give a damn thereby eliminating any emotional pain (this is not recomended since it can also drastically limit your sensitivity for other emotions)

its true in this world, guys, us, who never open up truly to anyone don't tend to get hurt so often as girls who tend to make a lot of drama over simple issues(this doen't apply to all girls, only about 60%) therefore when something bad happens, girls are always hurt so they can cope automatically, while guys open their guard and when we get hit, we're sent flying with giant craters where our hearts used to be and we don't know what to do, we just run around in circles with our heads cut off. when we get hurt emotionally, its like the world is ending...therefore we need coping skills, but closing ourselves off is not the best solution, we just need better ones that vary

Yikes well definitely not hurting yourself or oversleeping. Both are very bad ideas, and for similar reasons. Because nothing good comes from hurting yourself, you will feel worse and worse, leading to the same outcome creating a very unhealthy cycle. Sleeping to much is kind of the same. It is an escape, like getting drunk or using drugs. Eventually you will start to feel bad because you sleep to much, and things go down hill in much the same way as hurting yourself.

A healthy way to cope is usually something that keeps you mentally or physically active, or both of course. Sports, working out, writing, talking with friends or family (probably the best,) even focusing on work or school etc. helps you move past those potholes in life. I hope this helps a little.

How well do I cope? Not that well I suppose, but I never lose control or let others see what is up. But my reasons involve a far-to-long story.

What do I do to cope? I get on with my life. Before I used to sit on a piece of sidewalk and think for hours. But now I can't go near the place without being hit like a ton of bricks.

cutting is bad.
you should stop that and take all your anger or whatever and apply it into your poetry..
