When you're not watching anime, do you play or watch a particular sport event? I see some mentioned on profile pages, but I haven't found any real passionate players, or rabid fans, yet ! So, time to fess up- what's your sport?

For me, I'll always be a Chicago Bears football fan, so cover your ears-- I'm a loud and sometimes obnoxious fan, according to my family....... I've learned to love soccer, both my sons played in school. My only real participation in sports was downhill skiing, but never competitively, just personal enjoyment, but it's been yrs since I've done that.........(coach potato)

I'm not very sporty... It's boring to watch and I don't have the motivation to join a team.

The Bears just lost their defensive leader and their quarterback got careless with the ball.

Chicago is not gonna beat Pittsburg tomarrow, . . . . .or finish 500 this year

On the thread, I watch all sports, besides soccor, hockey, car racing, horse racing, and the one with the basket on a stick etc.

I am a passionate hockey fan, though I don't have a favorite team, yet. Since I'm still waiting for the Coyotes to move to Southern Ontario (It will happen).

I also happen to watch baseball and football, but CFL, not NFL.

A true and loyal fan is never limited to the statistics or logistics of their team, & for the record, I'm a Cubs fan, too--- see what I mean?

I WAS RAISED ON HOCKEY!!! Ok, so I was a south of the border fan. My parents had season tickets to the Chi. Blackhawks. That was back when there were 6 teams in the NHL--- 4 American teams and 2 Canadian, (which never made sense to me-- shouldn't that make it the International Hockey League?)

OP is so moe~ ♥

For me, well, I'm not in school (drop out, oops) but I was always one of the "art kids" instead of a prep. In middle school, I tried out for the Sr Volleyball team and made it. \o/

I'm a semi-hockey fag, though. I don't really get how the game set ups and stuff work, but it's fun to watch, at least. That's what I get for being born in Hong Kong, lmao. I love love love the Boston Bruins. And I wish I could throttle the Toronto Maple Leafs.

You know, if you wanna talk about sports, we have a section for them?

Ok, so I'm not that passionate a fan, it's more emotional w/ me & the reason I'm not into statistics is mostly 'cause #s don't stay in my head very well. 'Sports' talk radio type stuff & ESPN type info seems to be more in line the sports forum section. Guess I'm going for a more passive approach. But thanks for the info--- All raving sport fanatics, please feel free to finish your debates there, & I won't be offended.

I see what you mean. I mean, I too have a favorite team, like the Giants, but I know when the odds are not in my teams favor so I withhold my support until they make an effort for improvement. And statistics may not show the passion of the game, but I can't imagine being a true fan when my team continues to lose and the organization does not take steps on the issue.

I am confident in the New York Giants this year because of the return of their key defensive players but am wary of the Giants offensive issues. They've had this problem since last year due to the loss of Plaxico Burress and have yet to address this issue. They've just inserted a bunch of rookies who drop the ball once Eli throws for more than 40 yards.

The Bears are generally a good team, especially with the acquisition of Jay Cutler, but they to have Wide Reciever issues too. But Chicago is a defensive heavy team and lost their leader. It will be interesting to see how they bounce back, but I'm not sure they can defensively. Just like I'm not sure the Giants offense can produce in clutch situations.

I am not a true fan of a team but rather a fan of the sport as a whole.

There already existed an International Hockey League back during the Original Six era, also league names never make sense. The Toronto Blue Jays are in the American League.

PS. Patrick Kane looks rather scary on the cover of NHL 10.

It helps to see those prerequisite tooth gaps,eh ? Are you good at these games? I gave up the large consoles after our Super NES, & we got that because of the Gameboy adapter. We've moved on--Gamecube & Wii.

My boys have played some of the sporting games over the years, but I was never good at them. Guess it's lack of hand coordination & timing. I'll stick to my DS, & I actually do better w/ a stylus............... maybe that should be my sport. Hey, let's make it an Olympic event, that should help legitimize all of us expert coach potatoes!

I agree,
but warmed my heart to see passes made by a Bears quarterback being thrown into the thick of a play and -low and behold!-get caught!!!!
