According to July 2009 Animedia, Fukuda added the following message about his Gundam Seed movie (besides his comments about his Gundam Seed series being No. 3 in the 2009 best anime ranking)
Fukuda said, "Still, Gundam Seed series doesn't end. The production of movie continues though its announcement is undecided. Moreover, I am thinking of some projects on different media. Thank you for your support."

Mobile Suit Gundam Seed and Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny were the last two Gundam television series before Gundam 00. Sunrise had announced at the Sony Music Anime Fes '06 event in May of 2006 that a Mobile Suit Gundam Seed theatrical film was in the works. However, no release date has been announced for that project, and even its "Gekijō-ban Kidō Senshi Gundam Seed" (Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Movie Edition) title was a tentative name from the beginning.

Writer Morosawa Explains Delay in the Gundam Seed Movie
The April issue (released on March 10) of Tokuma Shoten's Animage magazine included an update on the planned Mobile Suit Gundam Seed movie from writer Chiaki Morosawa. Morosawa explained that the plot is done, but she has been ill since the end of 2004-2005's Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny sequel. She then asked for the fans' patience.

Minor SEED movie update
Posters on 2ch point out that Houko Kuwashima's diary on SEED Club's cellphone site says Stellar appears in the SEED movie. It's not clarified in what capacity the character appears though at this early stage, speculation favors a memory scene.

On May 6, 2006, this film was first announced at the Sony Music Anime Fes' 06 with a brief clip featuring the characters Shinn Asuka, Cagalli Yula Athha, Lacus Clyne, Kira Yamato, and Athrun Zala.[3] After the Sony Music Anime Fes' 06, Sunrise announced the film on their website.
