Seriously, wikipedia does not provide enough information on this as much time I wish I can spend reading books from the leaders of the movement, like Christopher Hitchens, I simply don't have the time (college). However it'd be great to understand this interesting movement and that's all I really care about anyways, just the generalities of it.

Also it'd be nice exactly which religions they are targeting whenever they make references to them. It annoys me that when I saw Christopher Hitchens at a debate he kept talking about all the religions as if they all that similar. Even Buddism which has no god whatsoever.

Just ignore this idea of "new atheism" and idiots like Christopher Hitchens and Richard Dawkins. They just like making something as simple as atheism somehow look complicated and bad.

It's basically extreme atheism. They are similar to extreme religions, but instead of indoctrinating holy texts and intolerance of other religions, the indoctrinate reason, logic, naturalism, and intolerance of all religions. So basically any anti-theist (which is at least 50% of all atheists, or at least people who claim they are) can be considered a New Atheist.

It's just another group of crazy people that don't deserve all the attention that they are getting and will get in the future.

New Atheism is a sort of code for ‘militant atheism.’ Basically, they teach people to be closed minded towards theology because religious people are dangerous and insane. So, this movement is to atheism as fundamentalist, militant Christianity is to religion.

Oh, what you said explains a lot of what came out of Christopher Hitchen's mouth when I saw him debate against Dinesh D'Souza

Is Richard Dawkins heading the movement?

It's kinda stupid really, when it comes to God nobody can prove or disprove anything.

Well funny enough they use that remark sarcastically for their benefit. Like I've heard people say, "well if that's the case we can't prove or disprove unicorns or dragons or the flying spaghetti monster." However this remark just shows that most people don't take a deep look into what religion really is because they're the same people that say, "God is a totalitarian". Which is not correct because then that's like saying the government and your parents are also totalitarianist. I remember Hitchens made a response to this similar remark and said in response in his debate that, "God forced Adam and Eve into being created in the garden and were given rules right away." It just shows how stupid people become in heated debates, even if they are for "fun".
