I don't see why this is a 21+ thread, some people start careers as early as 16.

I work in Game to support myself while I study Medical Engineering in University, I also teach younger kids Aikdio-Ninjutsu every Friday evening which brings in some cash.

I assumed it was a creative attempt to reveal the CR 'oldsters' but it isn't working well as far as I can tell. The younger CR'ers refuse to be silenced. ;-p

Lol! The start of the thread was surprisingly full of the older members which was cool to see, as I never see them post usually, they remain anonymous haha.

I've worked as a waiter before. I quit after 3 days out of sheer rage at my unreasonable, stupid boss.
I've caught insects for people in HS ever since I was young for them to use in their AP biology insect collecting projects. I got paid, but it wasn't really an official job.
I've worked in the entomology quarantine at my school for a little while and I've done some field work with the professors.
I currently work at a hotel next to Disneyland in California. I work the graveyard shift but I'm changing that this week.
I help my friends write/revise essays and papers. I am occasionally rewarded.
I occasionally help people with martial arts training or if they need a sparring partner/supervisor, I am usually up for the task.

Well, here goes:

Worked as waiter, cafeteria line worker, dishwasher part-time fall-winter semesters while attaining 1st college degree...before you were born, 1965-70.
Became disenchanted with large University by 2nd yr, tried to drop out but Vietnam War 1965-74 great motivator to stay in school. Graduated in time for Recession, 1970. Worked odd-jobs 1 yr. before buying myself a job.

1971-1980: borrowed $$ from parent: Owner-operator HHG (household good) hauler/mover. Ran 48 states + Canada. Never home. Gr8 way to stay single. Changeover from bleeding-heart liberal (5 yrs college) to unabashed belief in limited government within first 2 yrs OTR (over the road). Paid off rig in 5 yrs. but no lateral job to changeover to account 2 more recessions during O-O (owner-operator) OTR career. Learned 1st hand dwindling buying power and diminishing accumulation of wealth from hard work....INFLATION....are you reading this, Mr. Bernanke?

1980: sold my rig for scrap, became Company driver for truck line. 1981: another economic downturn: laid-off. Emigrated 1500 miles, found better paying job until that layoff account recession.
1982: reinvented myself: went back to college. Worked part-time job as tour bus coach operator 4 years (gr8 job, too seasonal for adequate living), attained another BS degree doing something practical. Worked 2 years as architectural computer draftsman when CAD was in infancy. Lived in 1 area long enough to socialize, start dating. Good friend noticed inconsistency about my job. My ego loved the work, the rest of me despised it. Fared poorly in transition from owning own business to working for someone else.
1987: regressed back to driving someone else's big rig. Ran 48 states + Canada....again. Left job 1992. Decent work but tired of being treated like a little kid by Office. Got home once a month.
1993-1998: 2nd re-invention: initial interest becoming a psychologist. Re-entered local University for Psychology undergrad degree credits then MS degree Guidance & Counseling. Worked full-, then part-time as Developmental Program worker with mentally-retarded, physically challenged clients in Group Home and Assisted-Living programs. Great work, very, very rewarding mentally, terrible pay.
1998: left University MS program to care for invalid mother. She lived/lasted 2 yrs. (pancreatic cancer). Became estate arbitrator.
1998-current: managing my own and my mother's estate. Sell on internet to supplement income (something to do).

Still awake?
