I like using mechanical pencils because i don't have to worry about sharpening, and they are usually thin which is what i need.

I preffer to go with technology... why spend $200+ dollars in buying materials when I could just download an art program (photoshop, SAI, GIMP) and get all the art tools I need without spending money?
the ony thing I would spend money on is on a drawing tablet for my computer, the one I have is good... but I really wish I could afford a cintiq... those babies are AWESOME!!

I love drawing with pen and ink. It has so many possibilities. May favorite type of shading with it is stippling because it's so easy to control. It's very time-consuming, but I think that the results are worth the effort.

But to use this method you need to have a very good understanding of colors and how they look with each other if you're using coloured ink.

(And yes, that is one way to spell coloured)

For initial rough sketches, I like a simple 0.5 mechanical pencil, using a B lead. But for the final tight pencils, after lightboxing, I like using a good old fashioned wooden pencil, 3H.

Inking?
Speedball super black india ink and a Raphael Kolinksy sable hair #2 round brush. But for stretch edges and my signature, I'll use various nibs and Higgins Black Magic.

Traditional medium colors?
I prefer Dr. Martin dyes, watercolors, and Prismacolor and Copic markers.

Digital colors?
ArtRage Studio, Open Canvas, and Illustrator.

I'm taditional when it comes to most things especially with drawing. I use a mechanical lead pencil and tissue paper lol...that's it. If i could try something fancy like photoshop or paint or anything like that i would but i still really prefer pencil

I prefer to draw digital than traditional. I use SAI and Photoshop 7.0, but for traditional I use mechanical pencil 0.5 lead and sometime watercolor.

i prefer traditional...
.3, .5, .7 F, H, 2B, 4B, 5B pencils, copic fineliner and erasers (i LOVE erasers)

i usually colour digitally, so tablet is obvious and cs4 and corel (i don't really like either... since both have their own problems. =_=)
if i colour traditionally, either copics or pencils.
