dude, that is the true comment by Gonzo.

you just made it up, if you think Saki will continue.

Saki manga will take 2 more years to complete that manga series.

Umm, and how do you know the manga will be finished in two years? Since it's a sports manga it's nearly impossible to determine the length of the series at this point. Also, you got that off an online translator, I'm completely fluent in Japanese, and no where in there does it mention the Saki anime being terminated AT ALL. I know that you used an online translator because in the so called "true comment" it says Saki twice in a row due to the fact that the Saki anime is officially written 咲-Saki-, with the first kanji also meaning "Saki", so online translators translate it as "Saki Saki." And I never said I think the Saki anime will continue; I just said that Gonzo never mentioned terminating it, and if it did if the Manga and DVD sales were high enough and another studio chose to pick it up it could, though I'm not saying it's likely; I'm just saying it's a POSSIBILITY. I'm not trying to be an optimist, I'm just laying out the options, the Saki anime could be over, but right now it's up in the air... albeit there is a very good chance that it is over. Well, at least the manga is out there.

come on there has to be a season 2 plz plz plz!!! how can they just leave at nationals thats not right at all

I agree with unknown user (that person deleted their account, so I don't know their username).

Anyways, I'm just going be optimistic, and hope that there's a season 2. It's a good thing that the manga is still going on, but the updates are slow. I don't know exactly how far the manga is from the anime, I can't find the whole series translated, I can't even find the whole thing raw. If there is going to be a season 2, then it's probably be here in 2 years or so.
But to be honest, I really do think there's going to be a season 2, but hey that's just my 2 cent, don't count on it.

Hoping for a second season, but OVA possible. The ENDing snippet made me think there should be second season. I mean, don't we want to see who wins the nationals?

garrasand100, you quite wrong. didnt you notice of saki sister part when she play with Yuuki.

Teru (saki sister) would not play with Saki on fifth round.

As I understand things, the anime had completely caught up to the manga by the end of the season--the qualifiers wrapped up at about the same time in both formats.

Filler eps don't work very well for series like this, and the Saki manga is published in Young Gangan magazine, which only comes out twice a month. So I'm guessing it's going to be a long time time before we see a second season.

Okay it's not impossible, Gonzo's already sorting through its financial problems. It'd be impossible if Gonzo closed down, and last I checked it did not.

Actually he's quite correct, if you're going to cite information from a web translator... well actually, don't cite information from a web translator period. The manga isn't slow, it's bi-monthly (by the way) and the tournament arc just ended in the manga, so after the second training camp ends the manga will be caught up with the anime. However, right now Kobayashi is on hiatus, and no news has yet been revealed about when he'll be start up again. Also it's not "impossible" for the anime to continue, it'd only be impossible if Gonzo were to be out completely, and last I checked they were still a company. And as the unnamed user stated, Saki CAN switch producers depending on the reception of the DVD sales and manga feedback, as if they're high enough other producers may attempt to pick it up. It's not an uncommon thing.
