hmmm, for that ... well, actually we have the same situation. there is this school nurse in our academy and she asked our class "Who would like to go to heaven?" and everyone raised their hand (so do I) Then she asked those who raised their hands that "Why are you sure you're going to heaven?" Then they just answered "Because I'm worthy to go to heaven"

I just laughed. Cause actually the correct answer is "Because I received Jesus Christ as my Personal Lord and Savior." Though whatever I do, they just won't conclude anything about receiving Jesus Christ as their Personal Savior.

Wow, did really everyone raise their hands?

I've actually thought about the whole idea of Heaven for a long time. It's said to be the perfect place, and everyone is happy and stuff. But well, I love happiness a lot. But sometimes, I'm ok with being sad. Sometimes I want to be mean, or I want people to be mean to me. Not because I like it, but at times it just feels good. Feeling happy - always, that wouldn't be my thing. I like being sad at times. It makes me think beautiful thinks, it makes me able to write stories or poems or draw something beautiful.

I know it sounds weird and stupid, but if Heaven really is such a perfect place, I'd rather not go there.
I wouldn't want to go to a place filled with pain and stuff (Hell) either, but earth is just fine for me.

Ehm, yeah, this is a bit offtopic. Sorry.

What's that verse that Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes through the Father but through Me."

This about sums it up. There is only ONE way to God.

Heaven, I think, is not of shallow happiness but deep joy in having full knowledge of the Lord, in being in His presence. It's a great place, I would enjoy it very much. A new world... which may be hyperdimensional, y'know? Maybe I could explore all the galaxies, the universe, and still be in time for dinner.... ^_^

Believing in a random god and going to heaven is like wanting an A on a test and never studying or doing homework..it can't be done...and it doesn't make much sense...

from my experience these people just have to wake up to reality on their own... the most you can probably do is pray for them and talk to them about it every once-in-a-while to nudge them in the right direction....sry i'm not much help =(

There is a saying, "Not all roads lead to Rome." It implies that there is only one way to heaven, and it is through Jesus Christ. No one is worthy of heaven, we all deserve hell. The wages of sin is death. We go to heaven not because we were good, but because the sin in our lives was forgiven.

I'd bring out the bible. Maybe pray before you talked to your friend because then god can use you to reach your friend cause you asked him and then he'll give you the right words. I would stick to the truth and not try to sugar coat the part about if you dont accept jesus died for our sins then you cant get to heaven. Maybe not that blunt...lol. Maybe if you take your friend to youthgroup (if you attend one) it will open up a oppertunity to have a heart to heart conversation like this and you can get one of your leaders involved. Explain that in hell is all those horrible feelings that people try to get away from and end up drowing in. There are no parties in hell because a party is a god thing. If they think they're friends are going to hell and its all fun and games...try to break it to them that its not. Explain to them what heaven actually is. About the gate. (these are just suggestions running through my mind idk if they are good or not). Explain how other gods are actually people from earth that were idolized. How they never conquered death. Maybe describe heaven (so they can know what to expect and think about how they want it). Maybe go through your favourite scripture?? I think you should pray looooong and hard on this question.

So a week ago my friends mom and I got into a discussion about living breathing things going to heaven. We know as a fact that all people go to heaven if they accept jesus as they're saviour. But what about animals?? It says in the bible all living breathing things go to heaven...in fact its even in a sunday school song I learned long ago lol. My friends mom believed they just stopped existing after death. But animals can do amazing things...they have saved lives, so why cant they go to heaven? Your thoughts and opinions on animals going/or in some cases not going to heaven please. Off topic...sorry.

Even if you don't seek the truth through Jesus and you genuinely look for the truth, you will go to heaven upon your death.

Jesus said he was the only way to god. Your position is a heresy.

Jesus never said he was the Son of God. He only taught. Besides which, the Catholic Church taught me this.

Jesus IS the Son of God.

2 Peter 1:17
For he received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."

And Jesus is the only way

John 14:6
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.\

Matthew 7:13-15
13"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

The Catholic Church is lying to you.

Don't you think that the Catholic Church, the most conservative Christian denomination, would profess that if you don't follow Jesus, you are not right with God? It's funny how I go to the Catholic school, I get taught by the Jesuits and the Theologiens and yet I have two people outright denouncing my cirriculum. How funny. The Catholic Church professes that you must search for the truth to be saved. If you do not know of Jesus, you will not be judged on that. If you do, you're screwed. Judgment is based on knowledge.

Know, Judgment is based on action. And the Catholic Church is far from conservative. It's hypocritical and feeds lies to people to appease them. If they go directly against what the Bible says, then they aren't really Christian.

The government is the same way, yet people take more offense when the church makes a mistake than if the government makes a mistake. It's ignorant of people to say "oh the church is a hypocritical lying organization". what does that make the government? what does that make humans? Just because someone assumes that the church lies to people doesn't make it so. If people decided that they actually wanted to take the time to dig deep into the history, theology, and teachings of a church their view would change. It's not the church that is flawed but people. The government is far worse than the church and yet year after year more people rely on it than on the church. What does that make people? It makes them dumber than dirt. Yet year after year people still live with the government that they chose and year after year they complain about it. If anything people who arent involved in a church are bigger lyers and even more hypocritical than people involved in a church. The fact that people take something someone says at face value, accepting whatever crap that spouts from their mouth (even the mouths of preachers) makes them ignorant and stupid. People are stupid. There are preachers who spout garbage and the congregation takes what they say as truth. that entire church is false. Then there are preachers who say nothing but the truth and people take that as it comes. Every congregation trusts their preachers too much. What people need to do is make sure what their preacher is talking about parallels what the Bible says.

Judgement is NOT based on action, NOR is it based on knowledge. Judgement is based on faith. We can have all of the knowledge in the world and absolutely no faith and we will not be saved. We can do all of the good deeds we want and without faith, we will not be saved. action and knowledge are pointless if they are not accompanied by faith and the saving grace of Christ.

Jahovas Witness' say that through works we are saved. that's a pile of steaming crap. People think that because someone is smart means they will be saved. That's also a pile of steaming crap. Someone with a low IQ who does very little in the way of actions but has strong faith will be saved whereas someone who has 5 degrees and donates $1500 a month to charities but has no faith will not be saved. It's as simple as believing. we are saved by grace alone. if we choose to accept it.
