I go with a few simple rules in life. One of them is: don't dabble in the things you don't understand.

well its true that so called 'evil' spirits seem to manifest around ouija boards... although i dont think theyre evil.. just more desperate to solve their problem than others and its also true that if u mess with ouija boards u might have a problem on ur hands.. ( a friend of mine got scared after using it and tried to throw it out but it reappeared on her table)

I think most ouiji boards are just boards with letters friends can have fun moving the poker thing around to spell out what they want thier friends to read. I'm not so closed minded as to think that this is all ouiji boards. It's possible that there are special people or special boards able to reach "spirits", although this brings up a plethera of other questions involving the after life.

Haha I dont think something you can buy at Wall-Mart can really summon evil spirits. I've done it many times cause my older sister and her friends used to be into that stuff and NOTHING ever happened. I wish something would have happend cause that would be a cool story to tell, but nope, nothing.

I don't really believe in them. I like to think that life is a mystery and I don't want a board ruining the joy of finding it out.

Ok this is my first fourm and i searched for this kind of topic, but didnt find any and if there are then feel free to delete this.

Well im interested in the paranormal so im also curious about weegie/ouija boards. When i was a lil girl my grandma use to own one and my mom caught me playing with it. Shes told me they are evil and terrible things can happen when used.

My bestfriend and i were talking the other day about them and she wants to buy one and use it and im also curious about what it would b like to use one. I dont think i would tho if given the chance because im afraid of what could happen.

So what im asking is do you own one? Or want one? Have you used one before? If given the chance to would you use it?

Back in my younger stupider days I was obsessed with occult stuff, and got fairly into it.

The thing with ouija boards is they require two people - so you're never sure if it's the other person moving the marker or "supernatural forces". Or you could contribute all of it to you subconsciously moving the marker. One of the main reasons this little toy has endured is all that uncertainty. It's all just power of suggestion and a desire for the participants to believe, nothing "magickal" at all. Most people will always believe whatever they want regardless what you tell them, and ouija boards are no exception.

**old fart advice rant**

Obviously, it's all hogwash as is anything you run into in the occult/pagan world. None of that nonsense is capable of hurting you regardless of what pastor or hot topic wiccan friends will tell you. There is nothing wrong with having fun playing with and investigating the occult as long you don't take it too seriously or too far (i.e. actually physically hurt someone).

However, even if the activities you do are likely to be harmless, be careful of a lot of the people you meet involved in it. Most of your high school chums are likely just rebelling or curious, but a lot of the people who have been into it for a while have ulterior motives. A lot of people will pretend to be "mentors" just to take advantage people financially or sexually. Other are just bat shit fucking crazy and are best avoided out of common sense (I could write a book on all the nutjobs I met). Most of older pagans/occultists are basically just sad lonely failures at life who have taken fantasy indulgence to a new low. I've always called them LARPers to stupid to realize they're just LARPing. (live action role playing)

My advice is explore and indulge to your heart's content but don't make any decisions that will have lasting effects on your future.

My friend once kicked the oija board while the session is still on. He did this purposely because for some weird reason it'll be cool to be haunted for the rest of his life.

And the thing is he did get haunted for the rest of his life. His house is the scariest place you can ever go to. It's always so weird and mind boggling to see him treat weird stuff that goes on in his house as another trivial things.

Anyway my point of view in ouija board is this. It's definetely real. Ouija board and calling spirits is almost on every single culture and country. If it's a made up thing it would only be limited to a culture and it's surrounding rite?

But no.. it's global. It's almost like the concept of ouija board is imbedded in our instinct. Think about it. All southeast asia country have them. Wicca have them. Santeria and voodoo that stems from africa and haiti region have them. Ancient indian which is aztecs and maya has them.

I mean like.. it's too global and stretched too deep in history of humankind to be some kind of hype or trend or something. It's definetely real.

I'm the same way. Just try to have some willpower. As humans, it's natural to be curious. But if you mess with things that have been known to cause trouble, dangerous things could happen to you.
