Ok well granted that it is sometimes just a name, they make tuner engine parts more commonly for Honda. And I thought that Acura is just a subdivision of Honda for the American Market. Or am I completely off here.. Educate me! haha

When a manufacturer labels such a brand image for the fanboys to squel like a girl over the jonas brothers...it'll be likely to sell...
hence, the mugen on the civic si...is not much different than a typical civic si...except for the badging and other minor exterior cosmetics...and MSRP for 30k...

i dont know about any of the car junkies here...but shelling out 30k for a civic trim? not worth it...

Mugen died in the 90s. The only thing Mugen really makes that is even worth it is the S2000 aero kit. Other than that, there's nothing. Mugen use to be one of the premier Honda tuning company, being backed by Honda, but they're not what they used to be.

Acura is the subdivision of Honda to market middle class luxury cars to the American market.

Mugen was actually quite popular in the 90s when the parts they produced were actually functional. Obviously nowadays, their parts are just names and really do nothing special. The Mugen SI being the best example came with nothing special but Mugen brakes, wheels, seats, and "suspension". All of which could be swapped with better performing aftermarket parts.

Well put. You can get an ordinary civic si and swap out parts and still be cheaper than a mugen si.

Only mugen/honda brand purists would get that car for the name...fanboyism is what is it.

Spoon is just like Mugen...hondas primer tuning house, but on the lay low compared to what mugen is. they do have performance parts, but its not widely used to gain the "jdm" style most fanboys try to make their hondas into...Spoon specializes strictly with performance...
