if it hadn't been for stupid homework, i would have been a much more faithful watcher as teenager. I LIVED off of this as a kid, and its wat introduced me to the greatness that is anime. i felt horrible when i found out about its cancelation a few months afterwards. I miss u toonami!

I remember toonami... Every Friday rushing to the TV at the same time just to watch DBZ or other shows like DB, Yu Yu Hakusho, Ruruoni Kenshin. Ah... That was where my Anime days started.

hmm...that sucks. i still remember coming back from school in 3rd grade and turning on cartoon network to watch dragonball z. i would watch with so much attention, even though i had already watched the same episodes like 10 times before. but it was all good.

but anyways, they still show the animes, don't they? i don't know cause i don't have cn no more...

Its sucks now,it seems CN and other channels are showing more live action shows than cartoons or anime. And the cartoons they do show are either just regular comedy or action shows that have no real deep meaning people can really connect with.Total Drama Island and Action just seem like reality shows in cartoon form.It seems cartoons are going down in america for some reason.Maybe they just cant compete with anime, who knows?Anime shows come out every season and at least five or more shows come out during that season. Also new seasons of anime shows. Its seems to me that anime's high quality, less animation, and effective budget and time cost cuts make it dish out quality anime every year. When american shows only have 4 new cartoon shows a year that could last for a while.

It just looks like most american cartoons just show the same concept and have not really tried to make a really good cartoon.Besides using Star Wars,Marvel,DC,Family Guy,Simpsons,South Park,or other already used icons as the theme.I think they need something original to spice things up.I think before Toonami died,I felt like Cartoons in america may die,and it almost has seeing the current state of it.But I feel one day it may rise again.

Anyways, farewell Toonami. One day, anime shall rise again due to Toonami inspiring an entire generation of anime fans.R.I.P.

I did the same thing, came running home from school and jumping in front of the tv for toonami and dragon ball z and many other shows that i cant really remember.
It gave me my anime start, and like what was said above i loved watching it even if i had seen it so many times i momorized what was said.

I liked it better when there was Toonami on the week day afternoons, Rising Sun on Saturday mornings, and Midnight Run on week day nights. Then Miguzi took its place on week days, which I thought was lame, and Toonami was only on Saturday afternoons. Adult Swim was cool from when other than Cowboy Bebop only showed anime on Saturday nights to when it was on everyday and showed some anime on week nights. But now, even Adult Swim has some lame shows on week nights and is back to only showing anime on Saturdays. Cartoon Network also needs to dump all of the live action shows (CN Real, Tim & Eric, etc.) they've been coming up with and also either revive Toonami or make some other line-up for some other good teen-and-up anime for times other than Adult Swim.

I thought it was funny how Moltar confessed that he had feelings for Sailor Moon. Maybe that's why he got booted.

When I moved back to America from Japan I was sad to see that Toonami had died. At least we still have Adultswim with their Saturday Anime lineup. Too bad that it's so late at night, only one day of the week, and is juggling only a handful of anime.

my entire childhood right after school, kicked off my shoes threw the bookbag into the closet(wasent going to see that damm thing till the following morning) grabbed myself a little snack and glued my eyes to the TV screen...man i miss toonami RIP kids this days dont have the type of anime we had when we were little ones that tough you valuable stuff about life and its meaning(as well as making us all believe we were deadly ninjas and/or master swordsman XP)

i think we can all agree here that most of us got hooked on sweet sweet anime due to Toonami ^__^

well the newer generations didint have what we had but at least they still have something adult swim seems on the edge of going out like toonami but it did introduced a decent amount of kids to anime and Ani-Monday has had a few good series as well(Gundam 00 S1&2, Street Fighter, i think hellsing a while back, Tokko...etc)
