Depends what you are into, if you want shopping stick around major cities like Saigon. if you want beaches go to central vietnam. don't like the city life? theres lots you can see outside in terms of culture, history, meeting new people experiencing new things... though I will say last time i went clubbing in saigon it as pretty lame, at least the places i went -_-

Well it depends on ur taste, if ur adventurous then go to places like Sapa, or Dalat. If ur into shopping then go to Saigon, district 1. If ur into old cities and antiques then go to central of Vietnam, Hoi An. And if you want to know bout history then its best if u go to Ha Noi. ^-^

Well, l don't know how is the other country.
But if you want to take a visit in Hanoi, and if you want to try to learn about our culture. There are some place you might want to go to:
1. Guom lake (you can also call it's lake Hoan Kiem). To translate it, it's means "The Return Sword lake" . There is a legend that our Great King Le had returned the precious sword brough us victory and glory to the Golden Turtle there.
2. Pagode Mot Cot, a pagode in a center of a pond full of lotus is our sign.
3. lf you want to shopping and try some V food, there are 36 ancien street full of history. And don't forget the Night Market with our festival.
4. Van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam . Our first collegue. Quoc Tu Giam means "School of Genius" and "Van Mieu" means "The House of Litterature".
5. Bat Trang, you can buy or make some pottery here.
6. The West Lake is a perfect place to meet everbody. Nice boat, nice food, cice drink,...

hmm, the best place for shopping for brand names would be Ho Chi Minh city, but you should be aware that the brand stuff here in Vietnam are much more expensive than the exact same ones from abroad. Each city or town has their own shopping places, maybe some night market in Da Lat or Ben Thanh market in Ho Chi Minh city. mostly depends on your taste I would say...
