it would be strangely awkward. But I wouldn't mind if my friends had that kind of interest, in teachers.

college/university is fine
elementary and secondary isn't

if the student is at least 18, I don't see a problem with it.

LOL! You took the words right out of my mouth. It's never okay for a teacher and student to be in a relationship (K-12 and college).

That's just wrong. Even though your teacher is not your teacher anyone, it's still freaky that he/she was once your teacher! Too awkward.

ya one of my teachers in high school took me by the arm once and wouldn't let go... that was an awkward moment. it was my bad though for wearing a toga on halloween. she must have been in her 50's, i really didn't want any part of that even though my buddies always heckled me for it.

i guess its ok, as long as the age difference isnt much more than 10 years..

You know, I'm 17 and one of my professors is 19. :|

Seriously, I'm fine with that. Haha.

But you know, it's really not that cool. It's awkward especially if you're still high school.

In college, I think that can be pulled off. Especially if your age difference with your prof is just 2 years. :|

It ok ONLY if the following criteria are met:

1. The student has to be 18+ yrs old
2. The teacher isn't engaged / married / seeing someone.
3. The teacher isn't a pervy creep who only wants to date younger girls / boys.
4. The teacher shouldn't be 6+ years older... for one, the teacher is probably more mature, and also, they live in a different world. The relationship won't work out anyway. Also, someone who is 6+ years older + he/she is your teacher, that person is likely a CREEP.
5. The student isn't dating the teacher for the purpose of a good grade...

I guess that covers it all... maybe Dating someone like your teacher is difficult to begin with. People will criticize you.

As for me, I think it's completely fine if the above 5 criteria are met I had a very handsome economics teacher a few years ago... wow Lol, but I wouldn't think of dating a teacher though. They are nice to look at during class I guess?

Hmm, this is a fairly easy thing.

If the relationship is in high school I think its fair but has to be kept secret as long as the teacher is no older than 5 years from the student. Japan and some other countries get away with it without too much trouble. Anything older than 5 years gets a bit difficult and even hideous.
In the US its really gross though.

College/University all bets are off and you can pretty much date who ever when ever.

Oh well.. I heard a lot of news like that on tv in U.S. I dont know about the punishments teachers will faced if convicted in other countries.

Very provocative. A teacher might be able to give lessons on a special, extra-credit subject.
