There have been many Gundam anime up to our beloved Gundam Seed and Gundam 00, and what's next? Will Gundam survive through the ages?
|
|
Eh...probably not.

it depends if they end up going with the direction they took for seed ya their screwed but if they take a better direction and create something interesting gundam will be around along time i mean gundam set the mecha genre of anime on a new path i think they'll last as long as they don't keep put out more crap like seed and destiny

So long as Bandai stop making shits like SEED Destiny, the Gundam franchise will continue.

Even if the franchise were given a breather, it would inevitably return. Original concepts may be more rewarding, but they are also inherently more risky, and anime is a business, first and foremost.

well of course it will manage to survive somehow.- well after 30 years it's still popular.- it's like the japanese version of the 'barbie' doll.

Like most ongoing series , it truly depends on the quality of the story being told. So far everything produced since has not been able to surpass the story put out in the 08th Mobile Suit Gundam Team which to my tastes has been the best written and executed Gundam series.

Tomino, the man who started the whole thing, tried to make the franchise completely airtight of it continuing by putting out Turn A Gundam, which pretty much brought every gundam series to a closure. He insisted that Sunrise should stop with Gundam, and develop on something else.
Of course, Sunrise listened to his opinion. /s
