Why are Villians Always Stronger?
|
blue from pokemon or gary as most people know is an as$hole cause he always picked the pokemon that was stronger but beating him at the end was really gratifying

Ha ha indeed that is annoying. However, you have to look at it this way. If you were equally matched with the villian what would be the point?
A good example of this is in Chrono Cross. ** Spoiler Alert!!! click to hide or show** Where Surge gets his body switched with Lynx. The first time through you are suddenly the boss staring down the good guys. Of course the first time I played I had my Ass Handed to me. However when I played again on New Game+ I barely survived. I won but only barely. Plus what fun is it to completely destroy an enemy on the first go? It can actually be detrimental, like in Mana Khemia. I cheated my ass off in that game and had to avoid classes for fear of failing them. |

TS_sasuke wrote: Dont you hate how in some games your opponent has much stronger moves? It seems like you can never beat them and by the time you do, its taken you a gazillion times. The villians always have these sick attacks while you're stuck with average ones. Is anyone else as irritated with this as i am? Villains are made stronger or at least appear stronger to make the game seem more dramatic and suspenseful. It would be very boring if the hero had to defeat a weakling after all, think about it. |

They are called villains for a reason besides your characters become a badass at certain levels....maybe you're just weak.
To be a good villain you have to be powerful. |

but its not very real. i think a successful game would have a villain close to your level but a smarter AI to control it and make use of abilities would make the battle a lot harder. plus then you use your brain finding a strategy to beat them. i think over leveled high caliber enemies just means in the end you over level and the rest of the game becomes easy(exceptions are final bosses) and that takes out all the fun in a game.
There, my speech is over. |

wish we could tell the gamemakers how we feel about it but its not very real. i think a successful game would have a villain close to your level but a smarter AI to control it and make use of abilities would make the battle a lot harder. plus then you use your brain finding a strategy to beat them. i think over leveled high caliber enemies just means in the end you over level and the rest of the game becomes easy(exceptions are final bosses) and that takes out all the fun in a game. There, my speech is over. And i totally agree with that ! |

I never really understood why they had to do this instead of making them either not convert to your team or make the bad guy and good guys closer in stats... That's simple to explain. In the change of alliances and sides, the bad guy is raped by the stat eating monster. |

not always like the grunts in Halo just run and then they die before they can do real damage. Also, talk about those soldiers in MUA 2, they are awfuly easy.
