You really can't ask someone about the military without them actually being in the armed forces. You can speculate all you want about how bad or how good it is. It all boils down to how much you believe in your country and what you are willing to sacrifice and fight for.

Are you doing it for money? School options? Benefits and perks?

I'm in the Us army. I jump out of airplanes, it nerve racking and a adrenaline inducing thing at the same time. You will deal with alot of bullshit, but that's a given. You will have things that you can speak about to friends and family, that most will never experienced or only dream about.

The choice is up to you with what you want to do. Explore more options the job market, school, and military. Avoid choosing jobs they give you too if you. Pick what you want to do and is best for you.

What kind of bullshits that you dealt of? Could you share at least one or two examples, if you don't mind me for being nosy?

I was in the army about a year or 2tell you the truth the only thing that was hard is the mental part getting thought basic training is the hardest part. everything have to be perfect. to tell the truth i think i developed OCD (not true just feels like it) just after the Army. When i was in basic About 4 people of my company Ran away while still in Basic. Here what i Did on a regular Basis Had to do Night Guard ( check in and out to see if people are in Bed ) Wake up at 5 am do work outs, eat breakfast in 5 mins, go to classes till lunch, then more classes till dinner then sleep but if some1 dose something wrong everyone will be hearing from the dill Sergent. To Tell you the Truth The military is not for nice people. If your active duty They you have to be prepared to live away from love ones. I Lost My Girlfriend just living a part from her. But the upside it will help in any career with the money for college and a slight advantage.

First think it through seriously. Then once you're in, remember to still exercise your brain and think outside the box rather than what they just tell you etc. (though don't express it or you might get in trouble). There was this sad study canceled who knows when where prison inmate IQ's were found to be significantly higher than that of US Army soldiers (it was embarrassing for the gov't so they ordered it canceled) so don't be just another statistic!

I've always wanted to join the Military..After visiting the office branches and taking assessment tests. I didnt go as far with the aptitude test as i wasnt selected. It would be great to become a seal, ranger, or to pilot the jet fighters.

People joke around because of my fighting background that I should join. Hmm...don't see myself in there gotta say...my heart is in science, would like to be a veterinary surgeon.

Haven't had time to check up on cr to much.

I'm with the army part of 82nd abn div. 1bct

Anyways. The BS mostly comes doing strenous details or long hours of operations, you got no choice but to suck it up. It's not so bad most of the time. In all honesty it is really easy, just sometimes so mentally straining. Physically i would say it's not so difficult. I'm not in special operations, but that's another topic.

I'm not gonna call you a coward for not joining. There are ways to help out your country beside joining the military or doing good deeds for others. I just can't stand people who bash the military when they themselves don't do anything but critic.

One example would be 24 cq. Or filling up alot of sandbags for bunkers. Maybe a mission that last more then 30+ hours without sleep. Those type of deals would be what i'm talking about for BS. Nothing to do but to drive on.

Also an Army vet. And I will say, i do not miss it. I will also add that if you are an asshole when you go in, it will either straighten you out and turn you into a great person, or you would be the biggest asshole of the century when you come out. I wan in communications, so I was pretty much an asshole to start out with. I'm new and improved now. YOU decide in which way.

LOL good choice the marines! let me tell you what the recruiters and service members won't. being a marine is about being drunk 24/7 when you're not working. alcohol is the lifeblood of the marines and just about any other service also. you also go out, get as many women as you can, and if you don't put out you're the weak boy of the group. the military is all about respect, you'll learn that pretty fast when you see men with authority being spat on when their backs are turned.

If you go in thinking it'll be easy, you're going to be in for one hell of a wake-up call.
