Maybe an individual's reasoning is affected by their myers brigs personality type, and whether they believe in a deity.

I am an ENTP - Atheist

If three people quote and tell me whether or not I should;
I will open a poll or topic in extended discussion with personality types and your beliefs for research

you can take the test here http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp

See how logical mind thinks in my educated opinion is if there is no evidence for a tooth fairy, so the rationale thing to do is dismiss tooth fairy as being nothing more than a false claim until evidence is found to show otherwise.
The fact that there is no evidence to show that it is not real has no barring or meaning. Because evidence does not work that way. If there is no evidence for something that is evidence in it self that something is most-likely false.

It is the burden of the person making the claim that something is real, to show the evidence for that thing. If no evidence is shown than there claim is false to the rational thinking person.

Some religions make claims that Gods or God is real. And so they must show evidence that there is gods other-wise there claims are empty and false. That will be the case till the time evidence is found for that claim.

I do not need to disprove flying trolls... But if I claim them to be real I have to show evidence to prove that claim.
I do not need to show evidence that Cows do not fly on there own... But if I claim they can I have to show evidence for that claim.
A rational man or woman would expect the same from religion, rape or abuse claims, and UFO sightings as they do from everything else in the world.

(Especially the rape or abuse claims! I had a friend falsely accused of that because his ex-girlfriend was angry at him for not taking her with him to the bar. You see how she acts wen she is drunk you know why we did not invite her.)

That is my Opinion based on my logical sound judgment.

PS.. Feel free to aiding me with finding a better title for the thread...

Thanks!!

What is sound logic?

Let's take for example, Gunther, who have recently emerge from a defrosted cave, only to find a giant red ball in the sky (Oh, that's new, what is it?). After staring at this red ball, he notice that, when its presence is gone, it grows colder, and in its presence, it is rather warm, like Fire. So, he assumes that that is a fire ball. He also assumes that it is rather big (so as to heat the earth) and rather far (which gives it an appearance of minuteness). This matches our scientific observation of the SUN so far. But, afterwards, he ponders over the problem of its movement. 'Why does it move across the sky', he asks, 'and only from East to West?' After hours of rational thinking, he propose that, because he moves, and most animals do, and because he and animals are living creatures, that giant ball, too, must be alive, and that, because it flies in the sky, and the birds flies as well, that this giant fireball must either be a bird in a ball of fire, or it is a giant fireball drawn by birds, and this (or these) bird(s) are forced in one direction by some higher, humanoid being (he concluded thus because he also observe that the flight of birds is erratic in movement and, like Unter, his dogs, they can probably be tamed by humans). This all would be logical to him, but, if you tried to explain to him the modern Scientific conception of the Sun, how it works, &c. He would just dismiss it as rubbish, while our enlightened minds would find his line of reasoning also illogical.

A much better example would be this scene from Monty Python:

This is interesting, according to my previous personality test a year ago I was an:

But now I'm an ENFJ, or more precisely a teacher/mentor.

Funny, since I've always had a keen interest in education. Even though my own primary education history was anything but interesting.

strange I took the test again and tried to answer the same way... Obviously I missed a few... Ended up with an INFP instead of of ISFP.

Interesting is that this result matches me greatly.

Fox news is only news until 5 PM then it is nut case show for at least three hours. MSNBC is just sad. CNN is not that great ether. I think there one liberal talk show host that dose well Alan Combs. I stop most of my watching news for some time it been such a downer. Neil Boortz here in the south a libertarian talk show host or Herman Cain but I stop that some time ago as well. Once you hear it need to check it out see if it true and that goes across the board,
