What is "Truth"?

what is "truth"?
is truth relative, subjective, absolute, or objective? also could someone define relative and objective? i thought objective was absolute truth.... and what is relative truth? relative to what? relative to our subjectivity? so does that make relative synominous with subjectivity?  i am philosophically stumped here...someone help me find the "truth" peace over war |

so if truth is subjective, does that mean that everything everybody believe to be true is? or are you saying "real" truth is unknown? or cant be found out? peace over war |

There are things which are generally true such as how we live on a spherical planet. A subjective truth is how pain hurts but some people derive pleasure from it, so it makes it seem as if pain doesn't hurt so the truth is left up to each person. Truth is by this way of thinking, subjective. Truth may also be seen as something which can't be obtained if we don't have adequate information to prove or deny something. Subjectivity goes with nearly everything, if you think about it. |

o...wow...thats cool...but they must not inforce that rule, because every thread i make and everyone else makes is just about me or them. We all make threads to satisfy our own curiousity...to get other's inputs on our ideas...it becomes a personal vendetta...but other people just seem to relate to it as well...its a relative truth shared between every last one of us...if a topic is not personal in some sense, we would never bother to create in the first place...because we wouldnt care enough about it to waists our time...or maybe i just need a drink? peace over war |

It's therefore subjective to how it relates to me, when my objective is absolute. This is true even for other people who claimed to be telling the truth, until I relate their truths with my subjectivity. When I absolutely am not their objectives. Because if I was their objective, then by our relation they will be subjecting to my truth absolutely. OBJECTION! <--- Best internet tool ever! Personally speaking, of course. |
