i might agree with you about gundam, but have you seen gundam 00? that was actually very good, great charcter development considering it is a gundam anime and the plot was more realistic and relevant than your run of the mill gundam series.

ps. i hope you don't mind my abridging your post for the purpose of relevancy.

Neon Genesis Evangelion.

The writing was awful and it believed too hard in itself. Evangelion fans are the worst too. Whoever can translate an entire episode of people whining into 'Philosophy' is completely BSing themselves.

Naruto
Soul Eater
Texhnolyze
Clannad
Kanon

Inuyasha
Detective Conan

The list goes on.

Minor Edit:

D. Gray Man. My cosplay group made me cosplay Allen, so I figured I would watch it. I watched 25 episodes in and got irritated because Nothing happened, it was filler/ they weren't anywhere farther than they had been in the beginning. For a series with so many demons, explosions, and violence, who would have known it could have been so boring?

Generally I don't think you should watch anime at all! Most if not all anime fall somewhere into those groups you mentioned.
============

Back on topic
The only anime I would really consider as dropping, is Bleach. It just plain fucking sucks. Right at the beginning anyone who seen Yu Yu Hakusho could see how much a pliagirim it was. The poor character development of Ishida, the mexican, inoue, and other school friends was completely flushed down the toilet once they went into the SS arc. They all become pointless or too weak to do anything! Ichigo's character development went stale after about 4th time they talked about his "resolve"... And the arc right now is just dragging on forever and ever with no point to it. Its little twists are more confusing than they are cool or interesting. Tite Kubo is an idiot how he ever got this crap of a manga published is beyond me. I had read that at first they said NO to bleach because it was a blantant copy of YuYu Hakusho. where it is at now it has clearly deviated alot from being a copy. But maybe that wasn't such a bad thing considering how god awful this anime and manga has become. Anime inserts random pointless fillers right in the middle of the main story. what kind of crap is that? Bleach is just the worst anime ever. I hated it before i started to read/watch it. Out of boredom i started and caught up. Now I regret all of it. A HUGE WASTE OF TIME AND DROPPED= BLEACH.

I can't say i have "dropped" any other anime. I usually know wether its crap or not from the first episode I watch... anime I feel are a complete waste of time are sci-fi animes that take their make believe crap to serious and have alot of faux science jargon. Like Ghost in the Shell or many of the Gundam series. Its freakin' anime I don't want to be bored watching anime because they are trying to explain the paradoxes of the universe....

Your post made me laugh.

:3

However, I would argue that Ghost in the Shell: SAC is one of the best anime ever released.

It's fine!

And I actually have watched 00. It lasted quite a while before I dropped it. It's definitely one of the better Gundam series.

I dropped Death Note because it was getting way confusing for my tastes. :P

I'll drop most animes that are too short as well because I'm always looking for a longer story not some 12 spidode bull crap!

I recently quit watching Chu Bra because I found out it only had 13 episodes. I must admit it is a pretty good anime for learning things. I guess I can only hope that theres another season.

i dropped Dragonball GT...horrible...it should have been done after Dragonball Z! GT was just way too much going on for my taste.

I dropped ALOT:
Naruto - Ninjas... not my style anymore and the story line turned really rotten. Also it's so sterotypical (of anime lovers) "Oh anime? You mean like Naruto?"
Bleach - too long
Negima - my favorite character turned bad and mains got more publicity (hated them all)
Soul Eater - I couldn't stand the slurping...
Death Note - u right in a book, the person dies... not that entertaining
*Pokemon - time to grow up right? but I still use refs. like a "wild whit has appeared"
*Lucky Star - Just got boring and typical
Inuyasha - too long and too boring
Code Geass - ppl hated Ogi plus just got boring
Ladies vs. Butler- fan-service after fan-service
Fruit Basket - too kiddish
Peach Girl - OD dramatic for no reason
*Sayonara Zetsoubou Sensei - I didn't want to but all the listed flashed to quick, the only manga i'll read though
FMA - idk just couldn't...
YuGiOH! - ... *looks down* i-I don't knoe... Boring? Tasteless? Odd hair?
Dragonball GT - Stop just stop, he dies in Dragonball Z thats my ending

*= I don't mind talking about it though

@Musashi_Miyamoto - nice critique of bleach. couldn't have said it better. accept i will add tite kubo is a bastard. yet, i can't stop watching. though i totally disagree about scifi anime.

@andrea-black662 - agreed! i'd even go so far as to say dbz should have ended after the cell games saga.

@ Whitirock, good gawd what do you like then if you can reject code geass as boring or death note as not entertaining? because i'm so ready to watch anything that is more exciting or entertain than two of the best (imo ofc) .

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni- It got too repetitive and the blood and maniacal laughter just wasn't for me.

Shugo Chara Party- I finished it finally! Yeesh the only reason why I kept watching it was for Ikuto and the fact that I've watched so many episodes already but Amu annoyed me so much! I couldn't stand her or Rika or Tadase.... I couldn't wait for that anime to end! Plus it turned into a little kids show with those annoying human girls playing in the beginning! I mean the anime was only 12 minutes long at that rate!

-Good Witch of the West- It was boring!!! I couldn't help but stop in the middle of an episode and do something else for a while! I'm amazed I even finished it but I knew that it took longer than usual for me to do that!

There are probably some more out there that I'm pretty disappointed with but the only animes I've ever dropped was Higurashi and Naruto for obvious reasons....

Astro Boy. It was kinda too cliched, for some reason.
Pokemon...is totally fun to play, but kinda boring to watch. "Pikachu, I choose you!" And Team Rocket flies beyond the skies...It's almost the same thing over and over again.

Most recently dropped:

Soul Eater. --I made it to episode 10 before I realized that the unique art & design was NOT going to make up for the underdeveloped and generic characters, the lame recycled fanservice, unfunny "jokes", and the super-fugly character designs.

Recently re-tried and re-dropped:

Chobits

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

(I just can't make it through more than 4 episodes on either of these shows. I find the characters highly irritating. I don't think I will EVER like these shows. ever.

This year's big waste of time award goes to: *drumroll*

The Book of Bantorra. ----The characters, those who weren't introduced as totally repulsive, never stuck around long enough for me to even care about them. the plot was incredibly obtuse and pretentious. Really terrible, terrible CG, character body proportions (already somewhat freakish) went off-model many times, which was very.... icky. *shudders* ----Just bad. Don't waste your time like I did.

Shows I usually will avoid:

1. Ecchi and Harem shows - There is never anything original here.

2. Shows based on Visual Novels, Video Games, Otome games. - These usually lack that thing I call "plot". "Plot" is important to me. The endings are usually unsatisfying. There are a few exceptions, but mostly I don't waste my time.

3. Kyo Ani shows. - I have always wondered why the character designs are so different depending on sex. The male characters look somewhat "normal", and the female characters look like Hummel figurines cross bred with insects. I suppose if all the characters were designed that way, I might be able to handle it. Sadly, the two sexes look like completely different species. I can't get past it. It is just too weird.
