If this counts, my Uncle was among the many people who were apart of the Freedom Riders. Charles Person is his name and he was 18 when he went to join the cause. You can see his picture and brief story here. He was also on Oprah's show when they were sharing their story. It makes me a little happy that someone in this pathetic excuse of a family made history and fought for something really important.
