ok so first off if you aren't caught up on at least the anime you'll prolly get spoiled.

so I'm sure most of us know that the anime is changed in certain ways compared to the manga. the things is i have only been reading the manga since we got like 10 minutes worth of episode (so around episode 125) so i decided to start reading ahead. anyways once i started reading and as new episodes came out i realized that somethings change from manga to anime. not just the fact that there is no blood in the anime i realized that it seems they sometimes tone stuff down, the first time i noticed this was when genkishi used his 'terrifying' attack against tsuna and the illusions of his friends just kind of grabbed onto him rather then strangle him like in the manga.

so I'm wondering what other events in the anime have been altered in some way compared to the manga. just curious if this has happened alot.

You aren't the only one. The filler arc is also one.
But in the most recent episode, they had Tsuna and co. search for Basil. This never happened and instead, the manga showed that Tsuna and co. were going out but met Basil by chance.
And the fact that the anime omitted the Yamamoto Arc, the time when Kyoko got shot by the Dying Will Bullet, and Haru too, along with Kyoko in Dying Will Mode.
Characters omitted were Naito Longchamp and the Tomaso Family...

ah yeah i actually looked at those chapters when i heard about them. could never figured out if the haru and kyoko ones were omitted because of the fan service or because the hammer made no sense since the bullets were now beams light.

don't get why naito was cut out, the only thing i can think of is that they just wanted to get to the action as soon as possible. course not like he ever showed up again.

I'll tell you why. Naito and the Tomaso Family were cut out because they weren't popular with the readers.

Also some of the shorter stories in the manga were extended and changed a bit to fill a whole episode's time.
