i prefer them now since i don´t really know the old ones
i know their music and some of them are still active
but i came into kpop around 2000 not the 90´s
but either way since i like the new ones i guess i would like
the old ones too if i had known them back then

i never heard the songs from the old ones.
except for H.O.T, i think the Candy(?) song was really awesome.
but i prefer them now.
hey, who noes maybe the popular boy/girl groups now will each turn solos just like the old ones[:

its normal for kpop to transcend to more upbeat music
since music in general is losing its mainstream.
But I do miss the kpop ballads.
those were the times.
and what do we have now?
really nice and upbeat music..
but at the same time..
really lame and "wth" kind of songs.
f(x) is my best example.

Okay, I'm gonna take this a step further beacause, while newer kpop doesn't compare to like, Baby V.O.X. and stuff...I don't mind it. I like DBSK, SNSD, Big Bang, WG. But what really bothers me is much more recent groups. I mean, bands that were formed anytime in 2009. It's like they're running out of ideas...After School is okay but when 2NE1 and 4minute came out, I thought I was listening to the exact same thing except under different names. And what else I really hate is...I believe it's a new group called B2ST? They totally suck and can't sing and totally rip off Big Bang's style. So really, in my opinion 2009 has so far looked like the beginning of the fall of kpop...good kpop, at least.

Umm, I think whoever made this is a little confused.
Shinhwa never disbanded. And DBSK and TVXQ are the same group.

Kpop was the first style of that I ever listened to (even before mainstream pop) ... about 8 years ago when my aunt sent me a bunch of CD's from Seoul.
The ones i really like were SES - Love, Fin K.L. - S.P.E.C.I.A.L., and my favorite (STILL MY FAVORITE AND PROBABLY THE BEST) was Seo Taiji's - Ultramania and few other solo artists. However the next time I checked the Kpop scene was only in early 2008 and I was really disappointed, and by now I don't even care about it cuz I really don't like it. (Please understand that I'm a boy so I don't ever care about boybands) so nothing personal when I say this. My once favorite style has lost everything great that it once had ... First the music - I don't see the difference between Kpop and average Mainstream pop (Except BoA she's still great) for me most of it is repetitive, boring and off putting ... The artists, well almost all of them are Bands made trough selection of looks, which is very sad cuz' it should be at least based on the talent. All those girl groups seem the same (style, looks, music, and the lack off real talent and voice). And most of the few solo artists are complete rip-offs of US artists like Britney Spears =(( My exception are the Wondergirls who I believe have talent and I was REALLY glad to see the on the US charts ^^.I'll wont say anything about boybands since I don't listen to them.A really sad part for me and maybe someone else here is that real artists (solo artists not bands owned by entertaiment companies) like Seo Taiji are forgotten and left out cuz' of the music industry there (He sold over million copies with his 6th album, these days no group can't even sell more than half of it)
So again Nothing personal it's just an opinion of someone who loved the good-old Kpop

The only girlband I listen to from the "2009 Girlband Revolution" is After School. Because they're different.
Now that I think about it, the only K-Pop groups I listen to are Big Bang, After School, and B2ST
