can anyone recall jonny, mr. crap pants? in all the games (not sure about portable ops though) his in the opposing army in the first three games, and joins fox hound in the 4th game. but the thing that bothered me was that he was in the genoum army in he first one. then moved into the Russian army, then joins fox hound in the fourth as stated above. but how did he make switches in between armys anyway? and how come no one noticed? (not in the game anyway)

A bit of a correction: the Johnny you see in MGS3 is actually the grandfather of the Johnny from MGS1 since he met Naked Snake aka Big Boss and MGS3 happenned before MGS1 (it's actually the earliest in the storyline, dating before the first Metal Gear).

right i remember, he shows his picture to him and tells him about his family in the US, then suffers the "attack" after you feed him the rotton food. but that still doesn't explain how his grandson got into 3 diffrent armys. but thanks for the correction.

I don't personally know the answer to that. But I always get the feeling that there's never really any explanation given for him. He's more of a running diarrhea joke instead of an actual important character in the storyline so the developers never took their time trying to answer those questions. He could become more important in MGS4 now that he's part of Meryl's new FOXHOUND.

Just got the Metal Gear Solid series for my ps2 so I could own the collection, just replaying and I remembered why these games are the greatest games ever. They're so deep and complex, awesome gameplay. Like, this series is complete perfection, no matter how much I play it, it doesn't get old. If you haven't played this amazing series, go out now and pick it up. It's fucking so worth it.

Heh, I accidently got Portable Ops Plus for my PSP, having meant to get the first one. But I really enjoy the game, and used to play online a ton. (Though usually just for messing around, I wasn't very competetive or anything most times, lol.) I thought it was pretty fun, and I played Infinity Mission mode a ton too.

But true, none beat the first one. They're all awesome games though, my favorites aside from Final Fantasy and a few other series.
