Nano is amazing. She and Yuki Kajiura are my top 2 most played artists. Plus I made a vow to myself to fully support them so I am on a journey to buy all of their albums ^^;, but that is just how amazing their music is. It isn't one or 2 songs that I listen to constantly, its like every song they have resonates with me in some way.

I must thank you for bringing this song back into the light for me. After sitting back and closing my eyes to it, I honestly cant believe I havent been listening to it whenever I was feeling a bit down.

I cant relate to you 100% but I do understand a small bit of the loss that you felt. For me, my previous relationship was 1 that lasted 3 years and it was a pretty intimate relationship. However that was about 6 years ago and since then I havent been able to move on properly (well its more or less hard to maintain or establish new relations when half of your time is dedicated to work and commuting). This song really does connect to me. Although I think Silver Sky will bring more tears ahaha.

Another song I would throw out there is Maaya Sakamoto ft Steve Conte's - The Garden of Everything.

^ This song is so good.

I really like Yuki Kajiura's music as well. So beautiful. Her songs take you to a whole other world. Hey, glad to do it
Actually, I'm more happy that I made an impact on you.

I spend most of my time working and commuting as well. It's hard enough keeping in touch with old friends. Meeting new people would be even harder. It takes a lot of time and effort to build trust and an emotional connection with someone. At least, there are tons of girls for you to meet in California, right?

Here's another song by Nano that I think invokes feelings of nostalgia and melancholy.
http://youtu.be/1Eelzb6kWNI

Ahahaha you flatter me. Unfortunately its relatively tough for me nowadays, for me commuting to a more populated area is costly and there really isnt much that interests me (also my work schedule puts me at odds with regular work hours). So there are enough life difficulties to get in my way. Thankfully (possibly unfortunately) I resolved myself to communicate with fellow others on forums like CR (I primarily stayed under wraps for awhile) and am forcing myself to commute to experience new adventures (albeit not too often). Man I sound so depressing ahaha! I guess another tidbit is I am quite picky about girls, like I cant tolerate excessive partying and noisiness but at the same time I cant stand it being too quiet (this is getting past common interests), so dear me I think I am doomed.

So leading up to maintaining social links (HA Persona reference~) I have lost touch with many of my college friends (most are from San Francisco) and I was never too intimate with my HS friends, but I mean there are a few but it is just a few and one has to be considerate not to intrude on their lives. Its simple to meet new people but to nurture it? You would have to really hit it off with a bang. Maybe I am just missing some kind of sign.

Music is just a avenue for me to escape from reality or to dive forward into it if I really think about it, but I suppose it rings true for many individuals.

Currently listening to the song you provided, I am not familiar with it (is it from a album? or was this before she got popular).
I do like the violin in this.

On the trending of music!....this is my next one, of course this one has to be familiar but!

Possible one of the most legendary songs in existence. IMO.

Mmm, I don't know much about Cali. I've only been there about 2 times to visit my aunt and she lives in Orange County so it's bustling with people everywhere. New adventures are always fun. If it was me, I'd probably try to make weekend trips to Yosemite to hike through all their trails

I guess you're not meeting the right people yet? Most of my female friends and acquaintances don't really fall in either extreme. Their personalities are pretty balanced. Hmm.. I think my close friends would be considered outgoing introverts.

I only have 2 friends from college. One of them was an international student and she just recently got married. I tried really hard to keep my other friend in my life as well but I guess I tried too hard. Now I feel like I was just bothering him.

I found that song while clicking around on youtube. It seems to be from her 3rd single album, Savior of Song. The violin is my favorite part.

Ahah, sorry, I've never heard the song above before. Probably because I haven't seen Gundam Seed yet, but it's definitely a beautiful song.

Here's another song I found by random on youtube one day. Just a nice, quiet, slow song that tells a rather sad story (I'm guessing): http://youtu.be/cE69xAWdTq8

Well it may be my perceived outlook on the people around here. Maybe that is the stereotype I attach to the people I have been around (talks about EDC, POP, Vegas) surprisingly I am not to interested in those outgoing events. In actuality I rather go to Tahoe and go skiing :D. Now that I think about it I got 2 trips planned in the month of Feb to hit some slopes, so I am getting there.

I been hiking on Yosemite and boy was I unprepared at the time >_<;

Yeah its hard to draw the line when maintaining friendships.

Oh I guess it was under a different name because I have all the songs from Savior of Song single, if I remember correctly the secondary songs were all with My First Story (another good group, but def not for the depressing list haha!).

This one is a AMV that you need to watch but if I ever need a good cry (kinda old)....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6IL_YVNBDQ

Oh a Yanaginagi vid! Oh the feels... it actually reminds me of this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRkgH7Uu-hA (wow it took me a long time to dig this out of my memory)

I've been to one EDM concert and a music festival called Life in Color once. It was crazy but fun. I usually can't stand large crowds but once in a while is okay. Ah, I wish I knew how to ski. That sounds fun :D

I haven't heard My First Story's other songs yet but they complement Nano really well in Savior of Song.

I love the song used in the AMV. Music from Hurts is always so soulful and powerful. I don't think I've seen any of the anime in the AMV. The only scene I recognize is the one with the Christmas star breaking from Toradora.

Wow, that last video. It was cute but wow. That ending

Here are a few more songs I like that are rather melancholic:
A Comet Appears by The Shins http://youtu.be/-4XHx_boqTI
Sea Fog by Keane http://youtu.be/sHVdXukC1P4
And So It Goes by Billy Joel http://youtu.be/wcUCYtyaLrY

Haha the only thing truly trance-like I can handle in person is Above and Beyond. Especially their free song Small Moments (omg friggin awesome).

Skiing is pretty awesome, if you can do it I recommend it, it has a much easier learning curve then snowboarding, but personally I cant do snowboarding. It hurts xD.

Im not familiar where the male character is from, but the females (except 1 ) are from K-on, and that is probably one of the happiest animes I ever encountered. I recommend it.

There is something about slower Western songs that I can never really connect to Eastern ones, maybe its how the instruments connect to the vocals, but I can't connect the two together like I can with Asian music. I can listen to like Thomas Bergeson or 2 Steps from Hell, but in general its hard for me to enjoy Western songs (though I love Maroon 5)

Here is a song that is pretty popular in China/Taiwan (its pretty old). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpYtEeiWUW8 If you like it check out the MV, it has some real onions.

I just listened to Small Moments. Great song. Hmm.. there's an electronic song called Snowflakes by Rawtekk that I really like. This video in particular uses clips from 5 cm per second along with the song (which was how I got to know that movie): http://youtu.be/a-GHEHTtNrE

An acquaintance recently said the same thing about skiing but he prefers snowboarding more. My cousin did bring up the topic of going skiing together before this winter is over but there are only 2 months left

Yeah, I'll definitely check out K-on. I need some more happy anime shows to balance out the dark stuff.

I love 2 Steps from Hell! I like Maroon 5's older songs like Sunday Morning and She Will Be Loved. Moves like Jagger is a fun song. It makes me think of when I went kayaking with my friend and we were singing random pop songs :D

It's a really soothing and sad song. I didn't cry while watching the MV though, but surprisingly this song made me cry (http://youtu.be/aRGTHLNNEOc) when I first heard it at the end of The Hobbit.

I really enjoyed the Snowflakes song. I feel like I recognize Raytekk from another song, but I cant recall right now. I havent seen 5 cm per second, aghhh!

Lol I still need to see The Hobbit - Battle of 5 Armies, but I really like the song. Then again Im a huge nut for LOTR related music as the music done was right down my alley, so this song is pretty slick!

You should still go skiing! Its still well in the season as the season should be ending in around April.

What kind of Dark are we talking about here :P.

If you like 2 Steps from Hell, definitely check out Thomas Bergeson's Illusions album, its really good. There is a bunch of other groups along those lines like Audio Machine, but thats a list for another time :D, I dont have enough time in a day to listen to all of the songs :P.

The new Maroon 5 album isnt to shabby, my favorite is MAPs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmugSMBh_iI (it can be a pretty sad story?)

It starts with Elliot Smith's Needle in the Hay, if you haven't heard it hear it.

Otherwise, this is always a good downer.

The animation for that movie is so beautiful. The music and art weaves together seamlessly to create a simple but heartbreaking story about long distance, growing apart, and letting go. I think the slow pacing of the movie creates an atmosphere that enhances the bleak reality of its underlying themes.

"May It Be" by Enya and "Into the West" by Annie Lennox are beyond beautiful..

Hm.. then I have a lot of time left. Haha hopefully I won't get too bruised from it.

Some deaths, psychological breakdowns, and a bit of gore... that kind of stuff like Fate/Zero, Baccano, or Death Parade

I listened to the first few seconds of the Illusions album and one of Audio Machine's albums. Sounds good so far. More epic music to listen at work tomorrow :D

That song is so much more sad when you watch the MV.

I just heard this song recently. http://youtu.be/YnqsffGn7sY And yes, it is from Taylor Swift's new album.
