Hello there,

I have been a crunchyroll member for sometime and used to love streaming the videos from my Playstationi 3 since it was my easiest browser to hook up to my TV. Lately, there has been some code error im guessing that wont allow me to scroll over the page at the same time there is stream open, this means I cant actually watch the show, change it to full screen, or do anything else for that matter.

Also i cannot properly switch to a different episode because the episodes dont change sorting when i click on the different volumes. it is clear that the coding isnt quite right on someones end. I was wondering if anyone has found a solution or a quick fix. Its alot of fun lounging on the couch instead of a cramped computer chair.

thanks in advance

I'll see what I can do but we currently don't officially support the Playstation 3 and don't code our site with the system in mind. We would have to code special exceptions for the PS3's browser since it isn't a fully functioning browser like the ones you would find on a standard computer. If the site and videos were working on the PS3 til recently, that would have been out of sheer luck.

That said, we are looking into supporting devices like the PS3 in the future.

Thanks for the info. I can still more or less watch episodes, its just really inconvenient. Keep up the good work. I love the site :)

BTW for anyone having this problem, using the directional pad as opposed to the joysticks side steps this problem a bit.(a little code support always helps though )

I for one would like this too. I tried using Boxee but I don't get proper full screen with it in the alpha (and it's cumbersome).

Saying the PS3 doesn't have a full browser is somewhat incorrect, though. It's a full browser - able to access most sites - but the Flash version is not the latest.

I've been streaming to my PS3 since i became a member. Just recently all videos stoped playing. They will fully load, but only displays a black screen. It is unfortunate as my PS3 is my only source to the web as of late. I hope there is a new update on the PS3's end or this sites so I can get my daily anime/drama fix.

I use the joy sticks and do know of the issue. It's much easier if you move the "mouse" (left joy stick) over the up and down slide bar. It frees you up to look around with the right analoge stick. When you find what you want use only the left stick.

I know PS3 isn't officially supported, but around 4-8 weeks ago you changed something that caused the videos to load up much slower than they should. They went from loading quickly, to taking around 5 minutes to load, if they do.

I can watch on PC unlike others, but prefer the convenience of watching on my TV, that and the videos look better on the TV than on the PC.

I'm also experiencing this as well which is very unfortunate.

Does anyone else know why this happened? Was the player updated just recently?

Part of the reason I subscribed was because I was able to use it on my Ps3 and I thought a clearer picture would be nice, especially since the whole family can watch it at once instead of taking turns on the PC, which has a far inferior screen. It was working quite well, (though I could never get the 720p) to function until about four days ago. It completes the loading screen, shows the picture title for that episode, then goes black and it occurs on every single definition. It would really be nice if you can give a link to the video's before whatever change occurred.

Same here. One of the reasons I bought an anime membership was because I was able to use my PS3. Until now, I was able to get the video streams fine, even if they took a couple of minutes to load. Since about last Wednesday, though, I've been having the same problems others have mentioned; the loading screen appears, then a still from the episode, then nothing but a black screen. I was able to get an episode to run on Saturday, but that's it. I prefer using my PS3 to the monitor on my PC, so I hope a fix is coming for this.

you could use two harddrives for your ps3, one with linux, and one with regular sony OS, then just plug in the linux one for watching stuff online, turn on the ps3, and wam bam pop, you gotz your anime.

Two problems with that idea...

1) The new slim PS3 doesn't support installing Linux. (not that I have a slim)

2) You can't easily "swap" hard drives in PS3. To change hard drive you need to backup the old one, and replace it. Whenever you insert a new Hard Drive (even taking out and replacing the same one) it formats it ready for use.

I'd try using the older video player.
