I would have to say the vast majority of Anime I've seen came straight from Toonami, and I was lucky enough to be the target audience through just over the first half of it's lineups (97-04, grades 5-12). Not that I'd stopped watching, but I'd become less fascinated and more jaded by then.

Plus, TOM never lived up to Moltar.

Tartakovsky was usually the common denominator in most of the networks best original programming, and he's left to make CG movies in 2011. Plus Cartoon Network has significantly more competition for licensing rights, which simply wasn't prevalent 15 years ago. Now you've got several 'cartoon' channels as well as the Netflix', Hulu' and CrunchyRolls' becoming big time content distributors.

That and I'm not the target audience now, likely why I don't appreciate their content much anymore.

I can relate to this because when I was most interested in the shows that were very popular on CN I was at a lot younger. So trying to watch and be interested in the newer shows they broadcast now is more difficult. I can't get into them. But I do have to give props to CN for introducing me to some phenomenal anime. I've been hooked ever since, and I'll always have a soft spot for those cartoons that I never missed again thanks to CN.

I miss it here in uk, good old toonami slot in the afternoon. Had dbz, gundam wing & my other fav shows at the time. Best thing was as soon as finished two hour slot, digimon was on foxkids/jetix. With sky showing pokemon, shadow raiders and others in the morning on saturday.

At least now with computers and dvds/blurays can watch whenever I wish but it was nice just turning it on as it started like anime central, what got me into planetes and fma! Wished now I stayed up to see the other shows they had.

Also wish for a website like crunchyroll with the classic anime dubs with some new shows.

Makes me sound really ancient, but those shows helped me through a really hard time in school.

I just hope one day cartoon network/some network realises the potential with more shows like the old days.

people romanticize that era of cartoons way too much

CN was bad for a while, yeah, but it's coming back in a big way. Or, it has been for a few years really. I mean shoot, Adventure Time, Regular Show, Steven Universe, Clarence, Gumball, etc. There is so much good to choose from, and it kind of pisses me off when people cling to the shows from the past and don't give the new ones a try.

ya gotta move on at some point.

I've given Adventure Time and Regular Show a chance. Gumball looks absolutely stupid.

What happened to shows like Scooby-Doo?

Then again, the only children's shows on I like anymore are reruns of shows that ended years ago, Phineas and Ferb, most of the superhero cartoons, and My Little Pony Friendship is Magic.

I liked quite a few shows when I was little on Nick and Cartoon Network. The only reason I go to Cartoon Network is for Pokemon, and the only reason for Nick is when Full House is on.

I've 'moved on'. I've found good shows I like that only started recently, but shows on Cartoon Network and Nick and even some on Disney show that the standard for children's shows have fallen, and I despise that.

i can admit some new shows are funny but the majority of them are just weird....like Uncle Grandpa or Breadwinners....its not funny.
Cartoons used to be entertaining. Now they just throw alot of random stuff at the kids these days.

Eh new generation of cartoons for a new generation of kids. We can go on and on about the cartoons of the good ol days but that's mostly our rose tinted nostalgia goggles being turned up to maximum power.

My favorite Cartoon Network era is when they rolled out CN City back in '04. When it ended in '07 and started airing Teletune shows I stopped watching completely. My younger cousins, brother, and friends kids like whats on there now, so I stopped preaching about how crappy CN has gotten. Hell, the older generation probably said the same thing about our cartoons.
