Heh-heh, I'm a jerk sometimes I know.
Cliffhangers are useful for making people come back...!

Hm....
I think I forgot to add something in the last portion? Oh well, I'll include it in the next post which should be up sometime later.......

If I get this preview done, I'll show what else I've been working on.
Oh, and I need to read through our author's work. I'll finish reading it on Sunday, Sundays are pretty much my nothing days.

"Shinkirou Takeshi, there are many of us here who wonder as to the nature of your whereabouts since the final days of Order 309? Some of us believe you to have gone AWOL, and they wish for you to be punished as a deserter. The other half, believes you have done nothing wrong, but would still like a report on what happened during that time period? Furthermore-"

"C,mon, Max, lets stop with the formalities."

The councilman sighed to himself, he removed his helmet.
His face had a large scar running from his forehead to his left eye. He seemed to have cut his hair short, "Alright than, that's enough of that." He jumped over the table, down to Takeshi's level. "Basically, half of these guys are pissed at you for leaving before your report was complete, the other half doesn't really care because your service ended after the mission anyways. We're all a little bit curious as to where you've been and what was the status of your Reanimated."

Takeshi placed his hands in his pockets, his eyes traveling to the ceiling, as if trying to find an answer. He let out a deep breath and spoke, "I believe I said in the dossier, I did what needed to be done?"

"Yeah, but that's the thing...we want a DETAILED report on what happened. Personally, I can just take your word for it, but you know...procedures and all that." He laughed with Takeshi.

"Actually, if you don't mind...I'd rather not have to speak of it again." It was a sad tale, one he didn't want to revisit anytime soon. "I also can't really answer where I've been, because I don't really know myself. If you really want an answer," He pointed behind him, "I guess...over in that direction?"

He placed his hand on his chin, thinking to himself...after about two seconds he clapped his hands together, and turned back to the council, "Well there you have it, gentlemen," He pointed to Takeshi, "you gotta understand, it was a tough time for all of them. I mean, I can understand why he wouldn't want to talk about it so-"

"Sentimentality is for the weak, Max." On the far right, he spoke, "I don't care what he's been going through, how am I supposed to know that he's not working with the resistance? If I recall, Handlers don't exactly 'forget' about those things that followed them around. So tell me, Mr. Ex-Handler....where...is...your...Reanimated...?"

The room went silent, you could cut the tension in this room with a knife. It was one hell of an accusation to make after all...
Takeshi's expression went away, he spoke in a monotone voice, "If I knew, do you think I'd have come so willingly?"

"Perhaps you wanted to get closer to us..."

"And do what, exactly?"

"Who knows...?"

"Come on guys, lets not throw accusations around." Max addressed the council, "Anyways, are you guys satisfied now? You're still alive, so I don't think he's part of any resistance, and furthermore, we have more important things to do than to bug someone for their story."

"Don't you think you're letting your prior friendship blind you!?"
It didn't take long for the council to go into an uproar. This was the problem with having more heads...there's always gonna be conflict. When one wants to go left, another wants to go right.

And while all this was happening, Takeshi was just standing there, everything had apparently gone silent to him...
The window opened, and into the room jumped the lavender-eyed girl...she stood feet away from Takeshi, a sad look in her eyes. She mouthed a few words to him...

"What are you saying...?
Please speak up...I can't hear what you're saying...
I want to hear you...
Please speak up....."

Suddenly the room went completely silent, not a single sound escaped. Takeshi was snapped out of his moment as he saw everyone bowing their heads low...
He turned around slowly, with eyes widened, he gazed upon a black and red Kimono worn by a person much smaller than him. Before he could look at their face, he instantly dropped to his knees bowing his head low in the same manner as everyone else.
"Hime-sama...."

I think the colors were to show which of the three guys were talking to them since only Max was named (so far). It also seems to go from the most friendly (green) to least (red) with orange being neutral xD

I could be wrong though

(Quick post. )

Hime-sama placed her hand on Takeshi's head, "Rise and look upon me," She said softly.

Even if Takeshi had no love for the government, the empress was still the empress, it was an honor that few received, "Yes...Hime-sama..." Slowly, Takeshi's eyes traveled from the ground...to Hime-sama's feet, traveling upwards...
His eyes met theirs....
Her face had an innocence that was unmatched by anyone Takeshi had met before. He stared directly into her green eyes.

She held out her small hand to his, "Arise...soldier." She asked in a soft voice.

Takeshi could not refuse, he took her hand in his, and stood up, he was so much taller than her, practically a tower. He could find no words to say at this moment.

"Shinkirou Takeshi, it is nice to meet you at last..." She smiled up at him.

"It is an honor, but I must ask...what brings you here...?"

"I wish to hear your story...if that's alright?" She tilted her head to one side, a worried look on her face. It was clear to see, she wondered if she was bringing up bad memories for Takeshi. "If you don't want to, than I shall not force you..."

"if you ask it of me," He began, "Than I shall tell you..." A little while ago, he was unwilling to share the story, however...maybe somewhere, he did want to tell it. But not to the council...maybe, if he told the empress...maybe he could save any that survived the order. It was a possibility of course...

"Tomorrow than..." She turned to the direction of the window, walking slowly towards it she continued speaking, "The time where the sun rests and the moon takes over is almost upon us, and I would not keep you here to tell me of your adventures...tomorrow, you will come to the restricted floor..." She pointed up, "There, I will be waiting."

"But your highness!" One of the councilmen finally spoke up, "Even we don't have clearance to enter your floor, why does a discharged soldier such as him get to-"

"Councilman Gordo..." She did not turn to face him, which of course annoyed the councilman, "Are you questioning my orders? As I recall, my word is absolute and my reasons are my own."

"...Yes...your highness..." He spoke no more after that.

"If that is understood than I shall dismiss this meeting for now." She said in a booming and clear voice.

-7:34 PM, same day-

This wasn't an average bar, it was a private bar for certain people only. It had a nice homely feel to it, when you walk in you'd see a counter on the right side, with a couple cabinets full of drinks and such.
You'd see a few tables in the first room, and in the room connecting to the first one, was pretty much the same. Not much else that really held much significance.
Takeshi took a seat on the bar stool...after all the tension from earlier, he was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief...!
He felt a hard slap on the back, clearly from Misuzu...

"Well aren't you lucky!" She said with a giant smile on her face.

"Yeah, I guess....by the way, where's the bartender?" He noticed a distinct absence of someone asking them what kind of drinks they want...

"Oh, probably in the back...they'll be out in a few moments." She hopped over the counter, and sort of helped herself to some light alcohol.

"Are you sure that's okay?"

"I told them I was gonna do it when they're not here." She handed Takeshi a mug, "What'll you have...?"

(Short one right now, feeling kinda down. )

"...And so that's when I kicked 'em in the shins and ran!" Misuzu burst out, kicking the air to show how she had apparently kicked someone in the shins.

Takeshi chugged his drink, and than laughed...!

Maybe it was because they hadn't seen each other in a long time and felt like reminiscing to forget all the crap they've been through. Or...a more likely explanation would be that they were both drunker than a peach orchard boar. They both spent what seemed like hours fondly reminiscing and catching up. They both were speaking very loudly and very animated, preferring to speak with their hands and act out what they spoke. They both laughed, argued, laughed again, broken bottle knife fight, danced, and continued laughing.

"Times like these were peaceful, it helped to distract us from the terrible things we've done...however...we can never run away. No matter how fast or how far we run, our past will always catch up to us."

Both of them exhausted, Mizusu laid her head on the counter. Clutching her drink tightly in her palms, "Ah, I want another drink~" She spoke sheepishly, raising her hand to order one more...her hand looked like it would fall over any second now.

Takeshi placed his pitcher down on the counter, turning on the stool to face Misuzu, he nearly fell off as he spun, "I think you've drank enough, maybe you should-"

"Ah, what do you know!?" She suddenly shot up, jabbing her finger at Takeshi, "You disappear for a long time, and you try to tell me how to drink?! Bah!" She looked like a spinning top about to fall over, "I'll tell you when I've had enough! In fact, I can outdrink anyone in this bar!" She stood up on the stool and cast a finger to the bar...except it was empty...only the two of them were there.
After the invisible people remained to be invisible, Misuzu just sat back down, "Bah, lightweights." She face-planted the counter, a loud thud was heard.

"Are you okay?" Takeshi asked, moving in a bit closer to get a better look.

Misuzu placed her hand on Takeshi's face, "Yeah, I'm fine." She said as she pushed him away, a deep sigh escaped her lips...
"It's been a while...since I've been able to hang around with anyone like this. Heh...we spent a lot of time together...the two of us...we were closer than sisters...I promised to protect her...that look on her face, it still gives me nightmares. I still wonder if she's alive?" She reached out to Takeshi, pawing at the air, looking for some support, "M-maybe they didn't die? Yeah, maybe they're still alive somewhere...? Ah, if she could see me now, she'd probably cry and say: "Mizu Onee-chan, please don't say such depressing things! If you cry, than I'll cry! WWWAAAAHHHH, MIZU ONEE-CHAN, PLEASE DON'T BE SAD!!!" Ah...she was such a crybaby....always worried about me.....never....saw...me coming....." Her hand fell limply to the side as heavy breathing sounds started to come from her.
....
She had apparently passed out from the alcohol.
(Author's Note: I was thinking of killing her right than and there as I was writing this.... )

Takeshi stared at her sleeping form and sighed to himself, he placed a hand on Misuzu's head and gently rubbed the top of her head, "Sweet dreams..." He said softly to her as he covered Misuzu with his jacket...

(Hm, when I think about it...this story has went on far longer than it should've...
I'm...not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing...?
Granted, the ending isn't that far off, but it's not that close either...
If anything, I'd say....the story's about 25% complete...)

"She's been coming to this bar ever since Mika-chan died." The bartender behind the counter had FINALLY come out of the back room, it was completely unknown as to what he was doing.
(Author Note: I wasn't sure if I gave Misuzu's Reanimated a name or not...
I should really keep this stuff somewhere...)

"I see you decided to inherit your family's bar?" Takeshi said as he poured himself another drink, at first he checked with the bartender, and he didn't seem to mind. "So, you're a councilman by day, bartender by night, eh, Max?" Takeshi almost laughed at the thought, reminding himself of various comic book heroes that were superheroes for a little while than went back to mild-mannered citizens when there wasn't a super villain threatening to blow something up for some reason.

(Author's note: Color coding was too much of a pain in the arse, so I'll just do it when there are a whole bunch of nameless, vaguely described characters in the same area.)
He tried to take Misuzu's pitcher, only to have his hand batted away by the unconscious girl, "Well, of course. The councilman status is just a title to me, it's no use to me after I'm dead. However...this bar has been in my family for generations, and I plan to pass it on to my daughter when she's old enough."

"You had a daughter?"

"Surprised? She's my pride and joy!" He laughed to himself as he spun around in a circle, clearly happy.

Takeshi leaned back as far as he could in the stool to prevent his drink from being spilled. "Ah, must be nice?"

"Yeah...but enough about that. What are you gonna do about your meeting?" He occupied himself by washing some empty pitchers.

"Don't know?" He stared at his reflection through the liquid substance in the glass pitcher. "Not like I really have a choice, right? I mean, how many others get this opportunity. Though it is a bit strange...why would Hime-sama want to hear MY story?"

"Maybe she just likes a good story?"

"That's what TV was invented for."

"But there's never anything good on TV..."

"Really?"

"Never...anything...good...on...TV..."
=====================
(Dream sequence coming soon
...Nah, I lied. )

-December 23th, 10:34 AM, (12 years ago)

The opening ceremony went about as normally as any high school would; a large group of people (larger than Takeshi expected at the least) gathered together under one roof. The upperclassmen (people who were chosen 2-3 years ago) spoke about what they'll be learning (about 80% of it was combat related), the faculty introduced themselves (all of them had been in at least 2-3 wars or special operations), and than there was a message from the headmaster...or at least there would've been, had he shown up, instead it was delivered by his secretary, (a woman who literally made her appearance by falling through the ceiling). Some other words, and than the group was dismissed for the day, classes would begun on December 26th, 3rd and 2nd years were allowed a 2-day leave for personal reasons, 1st years would attend class on the 24th in order to hand them the course material and than be dismissed. 1st year's families were allowed in the dorms temporarily on the 25th and only the 25th.

Before leaving school grounds, Takeshi was given a crudely drawn map of where he'd be living during his 2-3 years of training. It wasn't far from the school, which was convenient...
But the place looked as though it was in desperate need of repair, it was falling apart in so many ways.
In it's past life, it was probably an apartment complex. Two floors, 3 rooms on each floor. Takeshi's room was on the second floor, room 109...or 106? The sign on the metal door was barely hanging on a nail...
"...Is this some kind of joke...?"

(A story idea has been going through my head...probably because of all the Kung-Fu movies I've been watching lately...
I think I should finish up my current manga's chapter before trying out something new.
....
I say that, but I'm already forming the story, coming up with the characters, and drawing it as I type this...
.....
I am really bad at sticking to one thing......
I apologize to my readers who are angry that I update once every week or two. SORRY GUYS!!! )

The inside of the apartment room is almost as bad as the outside...if there were anything in there. Apparently, it was just one room a bathroom, some kitchen space, 3 windows, and a rolled up sleeping bag in the corner...and that's about it...
He quickly walks around the apartment's interior, tracing his hand along the walls...
....
At the very least, it wouldn't come crashing down on him...yet. The roof was still in tact, a few holes but nothing too bad.

He sighed to himself as he sat under the window, "So, what do I do now?" He didn't have any family, the friends he'd known all through middle school are either dead or still hospitalized...
An image of Akiko flashed in his mind...
He sat with his knees to his chest, burying his head in his arms...
"...Sorry..."
----------
-June 23rd, 20XX, 11:06 PM (16 years ago)-

Outside his home, he trained in basic combat steps. He had memorized these years ago, however, he needed to make sure to keep practicing whenever he could, otherwise he'd forget them, make mistakes, develop bad habits, and get beaten down.
His dad wasn't around, so it was just him training right now.
*Plip*
A little rain drop hit the tip of his nose, breaking his focus. He looked up as more rain drops started to fall....
"....Ah...rain..." Regardless of the rain, he continued practicing. He didn't want to stop mid-sequence.

"Shinkirou-kun?" A girl's voice came from the steps leading to the house. "Are you training out in the rain?"
A young girl came wearing a rain coat and carrying an umbrella.

"Oh, hey." Takeshi greeted his child hood friend while continuing his sequence. "What're you doing here?"

"Ah, I was bored so I was wondering if you wanted to watch a Kung-Fu movie with me?" She was carrying a zipped bag over her shoulder, "You know...it's raining..." She said in an expressionless voice.

"Yeah...I'll be done in a moment, you can head inside." Takeshi didn't even look at her as he continued his stance.

"...." She seemed to be thinking for a moment.
She walked past him, through the door...but only put the bag down. She put her hood down and took off her rain coat as she walked outside in the rain.
"I don't mind waiting."

"You're gonna get soaked..." Takeshi advised, pausing in his sequence to mention that fact.

"You're already twice as soaked..." She just stood there, watching Takeshi train. "I'll just wait for you to finish."

"....." He continued his sequence, "Alright than, I'll finish quickly before you catch a cold."

She seemed to mumble something under her breath.

"You say something?"

"N-Nothing." Her cheeks turned slightly red as she looked away.
--------------------
He snapped out of his little memory trip, returning to the small dark room with no light. He stood up, placing his hand on the window...staring up at the cloudy skies.
"I'm sorry..." That habit of surviving, the devil's luck, whatever you want to call it...there were times, he wished he had been a little more unlucky, than he wouldn't be stuck in this war torn world...
"And I'll only be contributing to that chaos." Once his training here was complete, he'd be thrown straight into the war zone...to kill in the name of peace, conquest, survival? He didn't even know the reasons as to why the war was being fought anyways...
He sighed to himself just as the door slowly creaked open.......
