Would FOBs know they`re FOBs ? I wonder ...

well, they probably don't know mainly because:

1. they aren't up to date.

and that means, not knowing the latest word trend.

I'd rather use foreigners to describe people from other countries, regardless of their being up to date with the trends in the country where they currently stand. FOB as a stand alone word isn't degrading; call someone else one right in their faces though, and be prepared to have red smeared all over your face.

I am one of thos "FOB"s, and I did have a bit of a hard time adjusting to American culture. People here are blunt and sensitive all at the same time; they will verbally and sometimes cruelly tell you what they feel. They don't care, but at the same time, they do, and it's all so complex and vexing that I prefer to keep my mouth shut, really. It's difficult to talk to people here without watching every word of every sentence. I guess it's because of the culture crash. From where I'm from, we're more carefree and tolerable with speech. Any comment, just as long as it is not excessively retarded, rude and offensive is more or less fine. If we end up making mistakes, we correct someone while laughing it off; generally, my people are kinder in dealing with these kinds of issues, if they even are.

my school is a multicultural school, people from all over the world so no one is considered a fob here

I pity the fobs, I don't mean it in a mean way though. It's just that everytime I see a fob in school, other people would just like shun them. They would always hang out in their own little group too.

I dunno. Some of these "fobs" at my school are quite mean to us. When we'd try to go and introduce ourselves they would just nod and leave.

Twinkie

- Besides your nationality, there is little to distinguish you from white people
- Your significant other is not Asian and never has been
- You have few Asian friends, if any
- You are embarrassed at family events because you cannot speak your language and everyone has to switch to English to communicate with you
- You have no idea that the other types of Asians on this list even exist
- You think Hello Kitty is dumb and do not know what Sanrio is
- You are the only Asian on this list that does not know what Bubble Tea is
- You drive a Ford or some other domestic car and if you drive a Honda, it is stock

I'm totally that, except for the Bubble Tea and the car thing... and instead of English, it would be Spanish =)
