I'd trade a real girl for a anime girl anytime lol <.<!

But I think that it is okay, to like the anime character's personality that much that you "could" fall in love, it's all about the personality, that's how you fall in love with people right <.<? I think it's acceptable to do so, but then again, you need to realize that it is only a "anime character" it's nothing that is in the real world out there, and if it was, it would probably look weird xD Just imagine a Anime character in the real world where the environment is very different from any anime, the color's aren't the same and everything. It would just be weird to think about it :P

*but then again if there were ever to be an break-through in brain research and "computer science? [Not sure if this is the right word]", that you were to be able to connect your brain into the computer, then there would the possibility to just fall for the AI, in the other realm, because it would seem like a whole other reality, that would be the tricky part of this discussion, but yet there isn't even anything close to it, but there is a possibility:P*

i wouldnt say i crush on anime girls, but anime writers are really good at making their characters very realistic, and very empathizable. When i was 15, i watched tenchi in tokyo and i flat out fell in love with Sakuya Kumashiro because of her tragic story. producers these days have only gotten better at hitting your emotional spots, you know?

I dunno. I think it's normal though. I have many anime crushes like Kuroyukihime from accel world. I admire her for her beaty and the way she is as a girl. What i think is not normal is also what i feel for this one anime girl (I wont mention the name). I always think that she would be real. I always stare at her pictures at my phone I always feel sumthing in my heart when she is with other anime guys. I feel sad when she is crying and some other stuff like kissing her pictures. I know it sounds weird but... I really feel sumthing different and I know it is abnormal but simple crushes is normal though.

I think itd be weird if you DIDN'T develop a crush on an anime character from time to time. Though falling in love seems a bit ridic.

I don't think it's abnormal.. First of all the guys I've met are so mentally retarded and they know NOTHING about romance :/
But in anime of asian dramas they are to gentle and kind.. they are everything a girl would like her boyfriend to be so ofc we fall for an anime character.. but as long as you get that they are only a character then I don't see the problem with it

I know that i had a huuuge crush on Pein and Shikamaru from Naruto.. they were like my guilty pleasures

No it happens all the time, might not be anime character for everyone but even having a crush on an celebrity, particularly an actor in a certain roll isn't dissimilar. You don't know them, not really, most of it is still the fantasy you build up in your head.

I admit to being guilty of having a small crush towards an anime character, but nowhere near serious enough to choose them over reality. HOWEVER, I would not date/get into a relationship anyway as I feel it is a waste of my time, people think I'm weird for choosing that lifestyle, but I honestly don't care about others opinions..

We just have to wait until the Holodeck is finally invented to get the "real" feeling

I agree with both of you. It is still the same as having a huge crush on a movie character (and I've had PLENTY of them ) I also have big anime crushes (Spike from Cowboy Bebop being an example) but I think people should admit that they've had anime crushes. Most of us have. And there's nothing wrong with that.
