Hello!

I don't know if this has been discussed or not (i couldn't find anything, so i am sorry if this topic already exists) buuut oh well here is my question;

Why is there a country restriction for Turkey? I am asking this because there is absolutely no anime or manga in Turkey! (other than pokemon, digimon and sailors moon). Therefore i can't understand the country restriction on animes like; Slam Dunk (i am pretty sure only 0.5% of the turkish nation knows about this anime xD), Chrono Crusade, Reborn, Natsu no Arashi, Shugo Chara etc etc.

I mean really, i see no possibility that those new animes can be licensed by any turkish company if the dvds of animes like NARUTO or BLEACH isn't even sold in Turkey. I am absolutely not kidding when i am telling that there is no anime and manga in Turkey (other than on the i-net).... x____x

If there are ANY licensed anime or manga in Turkey, can you please tell me the company name (and the name of the anime) so i can at least buy the DVDs of those?

You're answering your own question when you mention the fact that companies need to license a show before it can be broadcasted in a country outside Japan. Why there aren't that many anime licensed in Turkey reflects the fact that the market, there, is small - so much so that it doesn't make for a profitable business venture, unless it's some "blockbuster" series that guarantees a good amount of sales.

You can read more about licensing and whatnot in other topics in the forums, and you can request for help regarding your anime through the Anime HELP Thread - but honestly, I doubt you'll find any of the titles you're looking for. Another alternative is to simply order the DVDs online (e.g. through Amazon), and have them shipped to where you're at. It's more expensive, but what the heck, it's better than nothing.
