You can't play League if you're easily offended by the trolls or anything. You NEED friends to play it with. Playing by yourself gets kind of frustrating. Especially since most people aren't so friendly. I'm always looking for people to play with, so if you're looking for someone friendly, I'm your girl!

But it is pretty popular now. I've only been playing for a month.

I honestly think League of Legends is much easier than DOTA.. I played with a few of my Korean friends in a scrim and I was appalled by how easy the concepts were. DOTA was much harder for me, especially in T2 games. However, DOTA is of course dying now because people aren't going to go buy WC3 disks for the sake of it but will download something free like LoL. I wish that DOTA could have separated itself from WC3 completely and made itself into its own game with Blizzard's permission. However, in terms of fun games to play nowadays, I think League of Legends is a great find and match for many people. I will always miss DOTA, but League of Legends is fun too!

To be honest the community ruins it for me. I don't really care if I win or lose but when I'm on a team where they are constantly talking shit because they are losing or constantly blaming your teammates then saying your bad just uninstall you really just want to leave. In the end you realize you really need a premade to play or else you're gonna have a bad time. I also havent played in awhile since before Vi came out so I'm not to sure if its changed any. I'll probably end up getting back into it sooner or later when i have a team to play on.

Yep, there are a bunch of big and tough keyboard warriors on LoL. When I first played DOTA (similar to LoL), I didn't do well, got a negative ratio almost instantly and of course "fed" the other team. However, it was my first game and I never heard about it before so I was a complete newbie. After my first death, I was barraged by a lot of raging nerds and told to uninstall, that I should kill myself, and that I will die a virgin (made me laugh). The communities in these types of games are pretty terrible, but the good thing about LoL is that you can somewhat play with people of your skill (or complete newbies) peacefully.

It's okay, though. Just ignore them and ease your mind by thinking about the fact that they're probably either sad 14 year old kids or jobless idiots who feed off their parents' money to only play games.

I was hook'd for about 11 months, then I uninstalled it.

Way too addictive, and I'm glad I did.

LoL has a higher active population than any other moba out there, so of course you're going to see douchebags in a higher number than in HoN or Dota1/2, since they're way less popular. Not sure why people don't expect such behaviour in online games, pretty awkward to complain or quit games because of it.

Not my type of game, but their micro payment system is exemplary. There are far too many companies that routinely botch their monetization system, it's refreshing to see someone do it right for once.

Not really, they're still locking off new content to people forcing them to either pay around 10 dollars or play about 50 hours per character, and they come out with a character around every 2 weeks. If you want exemplary F2P you go straight to valve with DoTA2, zero gameplay items cost money. no characters, skills whatever costs money.

As for LoL, its ok as a starting point but really does lack the depth of dota/hon. If you want to not really care about a complex meta, specifically variable builds or more variable strategy or more complicated characters then LoL is fine. Its how I got into dotaclones but once I swapped over it just seemed so stale and boring

It's kind of a culture shock for extremely new gamers though.

I was all innocent little Paul wanting to play DOTA and next thing I know, I felt bad because of online a-holes throughout the day(s). Didn't take long for me to get used to it and start raging back.. and it took a lot longer for me to stop raging and just play a game like how it's supposed to be played. Them trolls got me young. ~.~
