Can you take care of yourself?
Posted 11/28/09 , edited 11/28/09
Without parents?
Well I am still 16, so I need my parents to some degree.

Without friends?
I've never depended on friends to help me with anything.

Defend myself?
When push comes to shove, yes, because if you can't defend yourself then who else will?

Throughout my life there were situations where I usually found myself alone, so I've grown dependent on my own strenght. I guess you could say I'm the lone wolf type of person.

If I have a job, I think I can.. However, it would be a simple - just to - survive kind of life..

18, so yep can live without parents.

I need my friends around me to truly enjoy another week of life.

As for defence, yeeep, martial arts is pretty much all I do, and have done for 14 years.

I can...once I get a job.

It stinks like real sh*t, when people turn you down, even fast food restaruants and grocery stores. It makes you wonder your worth as a person.

I know how you feel! about 3 years ago I quit university and spent 6 months applying for all sorts of jobs, cleaner, shop assistant, warehouse worker, but kept getting turned down from all of them and sometimes never even got a reply. It got me really depressed at times. But hang in there, someone will eventually recognize what you have to give and hire you! Good luck!

im nearly 23 so without parent i'm fine, but as i still live with my family my mum tends to be a bit too helpful. annoying yes but i know she can't really help it, thats just the way she is.

as for friends, i don't really have any close friends. i get on with a few guys from work and hang about with one sometimes, but i can get by without them, i have done before.

as for being myself, i guess i can defend myself, had to many times at school, though not always effectively. but i get on with most people, or don't get noticed by any would be troublemakers anymore.

i do prefer my own company, im a bit of a loner.

I will be capable of taking care of myself in the near future, actually.
Lol I have it all planned out.
I dropped out of high school and I'm getting my GED (one more test left to pass). After that, I'm going to take some other test (my memory fails me.. Can't remember what it's called..) and I'm going to be a teachers aid (found out you can do that at my age... =) I was so happy lol.. Makes my life easier). I'm going to try to get a second job because a teacher's aid job will most likely be part time (and Idk if they can hire me full time at 16, anyway..). All I really need the money for right now is gas (hafta be able to drive to work). The rest of it goes into my "down-payment fund". I'm buying a house. I have no need for an apartment (and rent is a waste of money anyway) and I'm boring and too broke to travel (also, I'm scared of the world lol. I'm just going to stay nice and cozy and never leave my comfort zone).

Right, so lets back up just a little bit.
After I finish my GED and take that other test, I'm going to start online college and work on a blended degree in teaching and special ed. I'm REALLY hoping that I can start college in January. The sooner, the better. So while I'm working my two part time jobs, I'll also be in college. If I can pull it off, by the time I'm 18, I'll have gotten my associates degree; that way I'll be halfway done and I only have to endure two more years of college when I'm out in the world on my own. Til I get my teachers aid job, I'm volunteering at a kindergarten for experience.

I will be supporting myself as soon as it's legal.

Yeah... So that's more or less "the plan".

Without parents
Yeah. I have a job and a good amount of money, I think I'll live.
Without friends
I am NEVER dependent on my friends. It's the exact opposite. But of course, I need at least one friend to be with or else I would feel lonely all by myself.
By Myself
I'm a very independent person. In fact, I hate being dependent on people. It makes me feel spoiled. So, I always buy my birthday presents and some Christmas presents with my hard earned cash. It makes me feel good to buy my own things with my earned money. And I'm also good at saving money. I'm like a hamster, I practically NEVER spend money (and that's like the whole reason money was made, to spend it) I only spend it on important things. I never spend it on material things like nail polish, make up, etc.
Hahahaha : D
