When was the last time you stalled while driving and why?

It happened to me two days ago. I was in a packed parking lot and cars were moving so slow. As I was to drive off, I didnt press on the clutch hard enough and stalled FAIL!!!

Last time I stalled, was sleepy and backing out, then realized I stalled because I was letting the clutch out too much with too little throttle applied, LOL

Don't remember how long ago that was, maybe 3 weeks ago?

It was a few weeks ago. I have a pretty aggressive clutch in my car and if I half-ass a take-off, it'll stumble or stall. I think it happened a couple of times that day, I was just being too easy on it.

Does a dead distributor count as stalling?

If not, then I don't remember.

Wow...

Yesterday XD

I was driving with my work shoes (which kinda killed the feeling out of my feet). At this one stoplight, I thought I put in enough throttle input but released the clutch waaaaaaay too fast.
So I started it up immediately, then launched like a bat out of hell to 60MPH (takes about 9 seconds to get to that speed, LOL), then left behind all traffic who had seen my embarrassing stall.

The last time I stalled was avoiding a buck in my RX8 a few months ago. I came to a stop and put out a loud sigh of relief that I missed it. I relaxed myself to lower my heartbeat when all of a sudden the car jerked forward. My foot slipped off the clutch. Needless to say, that didn't really help me relax as the sudden jerk made my heart race again. LOL
Now I drive an automatic and havn't stalled it once.

I haven't stalled my rx7 in months. Last time I can remember was at a drive through. The lady at the window said that's why she drives an automatic as I looked like a retard restarting the car

I prefer automatic over manual...especially when commuting to work on heavy traffic 101 daily.

Southbound 101 over here is HELL in rush hour.

However, I've driven manual long enough to the point where kicking the clutch every time I stop isn't a problem. And if it's really bad stop-and-go, I just shove it into 2nd and launch with that until traffic speeds up.

Hell, stop-and-go traffic bores me,. but it does give my left leg a bit of a workout...

NB 101 during the AM is a pain in the ass...SB after 3pm is hell, which sucks for me because i work mornings and off at noon so I'm stuck in traffic both ways...

I couldnt be bothered with going through gears, but SMG works out well for me.

I've stalled six Times in my life. Yes, I'm counting. Twice was when driving an unfamiliar car for the first Time each, once a friend's Porsche Boxster which had an unexpectedly uneven clutch pedal and once in the car I currently drive when I first test drove it, which has a far higher and abrupt engagement point compared to the car I was used to.

I'm used to driving in all kinds of mad LA/OC/Riverside traffic during rush hour, from the 405/101 (utter hell) to the Orange Crush (super annoying) to the 91 into Riverside without Fastrak (ridiculous). But never once did I complain about working the clutch

I put a BOV on my WRX to see what it sounded like about 3 months ago. Wasn't a 50/50, I don't recommend putting one on and it really is just rice. But nonetheless it was 20 bucks from a good friend and I hadn't done a modification in a while. No tune, right after resetting the ECU I went to drive and the sweet spot in the clutch had changed. Stalled right after I installed that sucker, drove around with it for a few weeks then went back to the BPV.

Haven't stalled since.
