2010 Election

Those two questions are two completely different matters. As far as who is expected to win, we can't really say for sure. Forget all those social weather service surveys you hear, because they're all designed to sway people towards the majority vote. Besides not having appropriate sample sizes or methods, you can only conclude that those premature surveys are just biased and inconclusive. The only nice thing, however, about the line-up for next year is that there are just so many of them, that it's hard to put a finger on it. I kinda like this ambiguity, because it will actually make people think of who to vote for, for a change.

As far as who would make our country "rise" - I think that's a very ambiguous statement. Rise in terms of what? Reduction of poverty? Improved economic reforms? Improved political systems and prioritized national agendas? Each candidate has his or her own view of how to make that country rise, and by all means, they cannot be discredited for having that potential. It would be naive, however, to assume that a presidential could actually do ALL of those things I previously mentioned... if any one of them did say that, I'd scratch them off my head in an instant. All of them have the potential... it's a matter of politicking their way through the system once they've been elected. That's a totally different story, there...

In short, I'm totally indifferent to the "expected win" or the "supposed messiah" of our country. If anything, I don't even believe that the president would be the starting point of any major change in our country. I'd smack the head of people who buy those "ako mismo" tags, only to mouth out that they want change in the government and what not. It's an overused statement, but it applies quite heavily to the Filipinos. Change begins with the self - but quite frankly, I don't see that happening any time soon.

I agree.People blame their problems on the government, and vice versa.
Nothing will happen if the people just sit there and wait for the president to miraculously change the country.

well im voting for bro. eddie.. regardless of religion i believe in his ideals... i think we need someone who focuses on those major problems in the country other than those who use the masses/poverty/whatever crap clichés there used by previous candidates..
dont like gibo because he is a gloria supporter which means he supports her ideals.
dont like noynoy too, havent proved anything yet, became famous because of his parents.. though he is the one is i like to win if bro. eddie doesnt make it..
just my opinions though, and i respect others' opinion... so there...

The political system here in the Philippines really is outrageous, and close to insane, with its corruption.

Erap is convicted, evicted from the Malacañang, and now he's running for President, ONCE AGAIN (re-elect?!)

Jinggoy runs for Senator and wins (Isnt he part of his father's case?!)

Jalosjos, even though convicted with Rape, runs for re-elect... and miraculously wins(?!) Ever since he was jailed, several recreation establishments were made inside the jail proper.

PGMA is running for congress (?!).

The Commission On Election says "the people should be their judge". Yeah right, why?! Are the votes the COMELEC are counting from the people of the Republic of the Philippines, or they count it like magic favoring the highest bidder?!

The politics and implementation of laws here in the Philippines is HOPELESS!!!

Ok i'm still too young to vote... But i wish that people would vote for the RIGHT one to make this country better.

yeah.but "WHO" is the right one to be voted in to power.in my opinion there is no right choice here atm until they can proove that all those promises they gave in all of those commercial tv ads they've made can be done, every single one of them have atleast once cheated their way up to power,if not then they used they're connections to be placed in their current positions right now,and why would the candidates who wants to improve this poor country,to make it rise up from its current condition be wasting their money even BEFORE the scheduled campaign period...if they had that much money shouldnt they be using it for something more usefull, than to just be right at top of the masses votes for the peoples votes to be just cheated on AGAIN.
