Sucks. 5 years ago I could drink milk totally fine, but then something happened in college and now I get bloated whenever I have too much milk. I've been forced to move to soy milk. I still want to have one last glass of chocolate milk eventually. It also makes me break out if I ignore all the other warnings and keep having it.

I have 100% northern European genes, and I'm lactose intolerant. (So are my parents. Go figure...) Most days I can have 1 serving and be fine, but any more isn't good
I don't like the taste of plain milk, but will eat it if it's with/in something. |

I had no idea Asians were more likely to be lactose intolerant than most ethnicities. So that's why a lot of people I know are lactose intolerant. I thought they were just posers lol. I'm glad I'm not since I drink milk everyday and consume dairy products in large amounts hehe

I easily replaced milk with soymilk but if I had to give up cheese I would be devastated. |

You should try water buffalo milk. I tried it in Japan and in China and they taste richer than European cow milk while you don't give much of the gas.

Oh man now I'm scared! ;A; I really can't imagine living my life without this weird but awesome diet that I have now lol. I'd be really devastated as well if I have to give up cheese and ice cream and everything rich. Am hoping your prediction doesn't come true. IT SHOULDN'T. xD |

I am an Australian living in China and married to a Chinese woman. In China, local milk and dairy products have a reputation for making people sick so generally they dont consume it. I know my friends and colleagues only drink imported milk and especially import baby milk formula. I drink milk everyday (not asian), my wife (asian) is starting to drink a lot more milk these days.

Hey guys! I am new here, come and chat!

I cannot consume too much (or at all) of dairy products. Otherwise I get or become flatulent and get the case of diarrhea. I cannot eat eggs as well because I get diarrhea.

Feel free to add me as a buddy, or have a chat. I don't bite.

Mammals do not typically drink milk outside of infancy. Many are severely lactose intolerant. I suspect that at one point humans were similar. With the rise of civilization and farming this trait was probably bred out of people who began drinking milk. In that case it would make sense for societies that have historically relied less on dairy to have higher rates of lactose intolerance. All speculation of course, but it seems logical.
I used to drink milk every day. Upon moving out of my parent's house, I cut back significantly. Within a month I noticed that my acne had mostly receded, I smelled better, and felt better. Years later I still eat cheese, ice cream and occasionally cereal. But only in moderation. |

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lactose_intolerance My lactose intolerance is genetic. (I've had my genes mapped) I could drink dairy as a kid, but now I can't have anything that comes from a cow, including by-products. It's a b*tch to go food shopping. My racial background is multi-racial....I mean all races, but you wouldn't know it looking at me. |

Japanese here, and I can't handle milk. Although I can eat as much ice cream and cheese as I want with no ill effects other than getting fatter. But if I drink one glass of milk, I am screwed, so I drink almond milk now and IMO it tastes way better than the skim milk I used to drink.
