ちょっと in that context is more so "a bit". まって is the て form of待つ (まつ), which is to wait, and ください is just a polite request. The literal translation of ちょっと待ってください (ちょっとまってください) is "Please wait a moment", but it can loosely be translated as "Hold on" and used in the same context, so you'll see it translated like that too on occasion.

So yes and no.

That's an out of date, uncommon term. It's just オブザーバ or オブザーバー these days.

mine is "暖かかった” あたたかかった Atatakakatta

Its the past tense of "is warm"

"was Warm"

its good practice for saying double consonants properly because it has tatakaka and katta.

For some reason, 落書き (rakugaki - grafitti) always stood out as a fun word to me. It's fell writing! Easy to remember, and fun to say.

Other than that, I have the habit of saying やれやれ (yare yare - Ah geez/Dang it/any variation thereof) a lot.

I think one of mine would have to be Shizukana. It makes quietness sound beautiful...
