This is just something to think about...
Early Christians and other religions based around the single god concept never celebrating birthdays, no gift giving, no cake, no happy birthday... I was a Pagan thing to celebrate ones birthday, even the act of getting gifts on your birthday was Pagan.
So tell me is doing a pagan ritual a sin?
Does it not point out doing anything pagan is evil foolish and a sin in the eyes of the one God!?
If so how can followers of this God do so many pagan things, wen it is well known God hates Pagans and there rituals?
So do you celebrate your birthday, or your kids birthdays?

Nah, its just one of those conflicting religious traditions...

I remember the mods specifically saying that religious threads are no longer allowed.
But whatever, a birthday to me is just another day, nothing really to get excited about. But being around family is nice, and being able to see another day is also good.

Celebrating birthdays are overrated. I just usually grab my friends, go to a bar or club just like any other weekend. Nothing special. Why the hell would anyone celebrate a year closer to death?

Celebrating life. Celebrating the fact you made it through another year.

You can die at any time.. Age alone does not dictate your death.

'AT least that is how I see it... You never know wen you will die.. So I do Celebrate the fact I made it through another year and still breathing.'
'I think celebrating someones life shows respect... After all we are all lucky to be here, and to be alive in the first place.'

Blah blah blah. It's like you're writing a birthday greeting card. Yeah, it's real sweet of you to think that way and to anyone who does as well. Good on you.
But that's not me. I look at each birthday as "fuck..I'm getting older" and I'm sure many others do as well. Even with that cute little speech I'm sure you do as well. It's nice when you're a kid. Inviting people over, receiving gifts, having a clown, and a huge cake. But as you get older, the magic is gone. If I wanted to celebrate the fact that I'm still alive. I would celebrate the days that I almost drowned but didn't.
Or I would just use new years to reflect that I'm still alive and going. Birthdays are over rated. But it's cool that you find them special. Guess I'm just a negative old fart.

If by celebrate you mean feel sorry for myself, then yes, I celebrate.

I am 29 going on 30... So I am no spring chicken.. I have already died once for a little bit in my teens, do to a hit and run.. lucky for me that my heart started right back up... But I just do not fear death, never have. Maby I really do believe I am immortal like I always tell my friends Jokingly do to the fact I look 10 to 12 years younger than I am.

'But I be celebrating my life till the day I am 140 or 160 years old and on my death bed.' (if I find out I am not immortal after-all.)

Yeah being 18 was great and worth all the shitfaced drinking, but it just means "Omg...I'm an adult....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!"

I really don't want to grow up.

So yeah all birthday's after my 18th I will be moody....unless I get prezzies YAY!

Yeah..but I'm thinking about stopping. Before it was fun. Now it's just becoming a sad reminder of how fast time flies.
