err im a muslim and theres nothing in islam that prohibits celebrating birthdays. we just have to be careful so it doesnt result in turning into any sort of idol worship or anything that goes against religious teachings of islam.

personally ive never looked forward to any birthday of mine.yeah, some were good, but my 20th birthday was probly the worst day of my life. i had to go to some uncle's house cos he was havin some goin away party (he was moving house) and my family (except my sisters and parents ofcourse) pretty much acted like i was non existant. they didnt even know that it was my birthday in the first place until a day b4 the party when news went out that it was. after the party my sister said "time to cut the cake", this statement was ignored and my auntie told her put the cake to the side. so in the end the cake cutting thing was delayed to the last minute and rushed. i opened the presents (shirt and tie, aftershave even though everyone knows i dont wear it, and a giftcard worth £20 to debenhams) im not ungrateful for the gifts, i just didnt like that i was treated like an unwanted chore. -_- ever since i dont like celebrating my birthday and dont like events where the whole family comes over to spend time and try to talk to me....... when they absoloutely have to or need something.

Ahm.. NO. May parents didn't celebrate my birthday. They didn't even let me go out of the house. That's really pissing me off it's like I'm in a prison. It's like a ORDINARY day to me. No special things, gifts, celebration, and lastly no greetings from anyone. It's alright if they don't greet me I don't want my birthday anyways and when I hear them say that it'll make me angry cause I don't wanna remember that it is my birthday! And lastly the most thing that I hate is my parents forgot my birthday. T^T

I am I happy was I born? The answer is heck yeah. I was really happy that I was born into this world. Thank you god.

Some people still come and say HBD but I don't celebrate it anymore. Basically I don't remember my Birthday so I never ask for a present

What's up with the religious rant. How do you know "God" hates pagans? Eh, doesn't matter to me, I love pagans and pagan rituals that have influenced holidays and culture. :)

Anywho, I love birthdays. I love mine, I love my son's birthdays. I'm turning 21 in 21 days. My son is turning 4 in 3 months, 2 days.
Dessert treats, birthday dinners, presents, treating yourself to getting your hair done or a spa day, massages from significant others, being treated nicely by most everyone, cards, poems, whatever... It's all awesome to me.

I think I want to get my hair done, get prettied up, take pictures, buy my first ever bottle of alcohol (that I actually get to go into the liquor store for, since I buy alcohol but can't go in), ask my dad to pay for my car license plate renewal, get my car fixed up, and enjoy time with friends. I'm excited. I'll probably treat myself to some Marble Slab Creamery ice cream and brownies with hot fudge and some sort of candy topping, yummmmmmm.

Well your pretty much celebrating another year alive, not a year closer to death. Even though I shouldn't talk cause I never celebrate my birthday lol. It's just another day nothing special. Haha I don't even tell my parents or friends so the day just passes by XD
