And I whine if I don't get cake and money. We don't necessarily celebrate on the actual day, but we try to celebrate in some way. Birthdays aren't as huge as they were when I was younger, but in my family it's still important to do something to celebrate, even if it's something as small as cake.

Why wait for your birthday to get close to them and have fun when you can do those everytime a chance comes up or every month? Then again, my parents, siblings, and I either always go out to eat or celebrate birthdays at home with lots of food!

Usually I turn off my phone(generic birthday txts and messages are lame) and go hang out with a friend who doesn't know its my birthday and take them to lunch or a movie and go buy something cool. Gotta enjoy the downtime ya know? I always wondered why people don't celebrate their birthday or seem depressed on it.

But they find out or remember and use my birthday as another excuse to drink. Yeah birthdays are pointless now that I'm 22. No more to look forward to.
