Hopefully people will no longer be racist,I mean...........judging people by their colour of their skin is kinda.....childish,its as if you've live your whole life in the jungle and seeing another person who has different skin colour weird gives me the idea that you locked yourself in the room since birth and has only made contact with yourself.Common read the news, understand a person before judging him or her.Its up to th individual whether he wants to be a knowledgeable person in society or a dumbass who doesn't read the news. If a person keeps being racist and starts to prioritized his own race,he'll kill himself sooner or later.Accept people, know a person not by colour but by his inner self.

I get where your coming from because I'm Hindu aswell but my cousin went to Japan for a business trip and he didn't experiance any racism or any general sterotyping, however in the airport they stopped him and took him for an interview because they though he was muslim terroist. Although I do think that some Japanese people are discriminative and perjudice to the other race, so they may keep to themselves and try to avoid contact.

A 'muslim terrorist'. Please dude, don't sound like a friggin idiot. Not all terrorists are Muslims, and even if they said they were, they're not. You can't be Muslim and go around and kill innocent lives. It doesn't work that way.

Now there's a stereotype for you that's all too familiar for Arab Muslims *sigh*

"not all terrorist are muslim"? your right maybe only 95% are muslim.

First, let us define Terrorism. Terrorist is defined as "a person, usually a member of a group, who uses or advocates terrorism." and "a person who terrorizes or frightens others."

So Terrorist are anybody who spreads terror or fear. When Muslims are offensive toward other countries (like USA), in such a way that causes terror, they become terrorist. On the other hand, if USA attacks in the middle east, then Americans are also terrorist.

Get this point acrross your head: Americans are terrorist in the eyes of some middle easterns, some middle easters are terrorist in the eyes of the Americans. Both groups spread terror.

Remember this: TERROR = FEAR
TERRORIST = PEOPLE WHO FRIGHTEN OTHERS.

***************

Now, back on topic:

Wherever you go, you will find racism. People are always afraid and feel insecure towards other people who seems to be different than them.

It's cause we look like them (even if we have a complexion that's more similar to that of South-East Asians) I'm east indian (no dark or light complexion, kinda brownish-yellow) so no one really thinks I look middle eastern, but a lot of my indian friends are lighter than me (north indians) and they get mistaken for middle eastern a lot. It's the unfortunate thing here. BTW, not all muslims are terrorists, that's just being ignorant. There was this one white guy who did the Oklahoma bombings, which was an act of TERRORISM. He wasn't middle eastern or muslim. I think the politically correct term would be Muslim extremists.

'Kay? I'm wondering about this racism thing too, because I'm in the Japan-America exchange program so....

Personally the best way to go is follow the phat guy, Buddhism, FTW

From what my Japanese teacher tells me (she lived in Japan for 9 years), they do tend to be racist because the population is almost entirely japanese. They are nice in general though. My friend who's our japanese exchange student is extremely nice. I think the racism issue is more the society collectively rather than individually.

I know, what you're saying. It's a fairly insular society. It happens all the time in all races. There are bound to be people who just are judgmental and stereotypical, but I've learned to not let it faze me. It's all good when it comes to that. If you tell someone they're racist, then they'll automatically be more mindful of what they say.

i am sick of everyone acting like anyone who is muslim or from India, pakistan or where ever are terrorists. Judging and entrie people and religion based on a few crackpots and their twisted view of a religion that actually promotes peace and charity, is stupid.

thinking that Al Queda and other extremist groups represent the whole of the views of the people in the middle east is like saying that the KKK represent the views of the whole of the western world.

No matter where you go there will always be rasicm, Japan isn't some sort of magical fairyland, there will be racists, but they will more than likely be outweighed by people who aren't.

Gosh, I've never known it was that large of a problem. I never even knew there were racism in Japan. Mostly Japanese there, so it would be hard to have interactions with Indian. I guess it wouldn't be weird to alienate another ethnic group, but I don't think Japan would really look at you and see you as a terrorist. Then again, I didn't see one Indian guy in Japan. I saw A LOT in China's airport though. They were nice to me. lol

im not saying that there is racism in Japan well its probs not as bad as were i am now (England) so im kinda relived to hear that XD but im kinda worried that ill be like the only indian about =(

That suprises me becasue isn't there a lot of racism towards indians because there sometimes called "stupid pakis" or something like that? oh and im Indian/Hindu as well

well racism is everywhere right? plus people always make fun of others like kids at school make fun of accents food and turbans....and how some kids have a um smell around them from cooking.... and supposedly the Japanese don't like forigners that much so i don't really doubt it but steryotypical i wouldn't really know

Well there was this japanese kid who came to my school and he was racist as fuck! He hated the chinese, the koreans, the Irish, the Welsh, the Americans, the Muslims, Hindus, Russians, the Africans, the French, the Germans, the Spanish, the Italians and even for some weird reason he hated mongolians more than any of the others. (he physically attacked Mongolians whenever he got the chance, and there were only 3 in the school so they each got attacked a lot) He actually used to shout abuse at anyone with these nationalities/religions at our school! (and there were people from each of the places I have mentioned thats how I know he was racist towards them) So yeah when you go there there will be at least one racist guy waiting for you! (This is totally true btw this guy was the most racist person I ever met, fortunately he was expelled pretty fast)
