Since anime is viewed as entertainment for younger audiences to the average non-anime viewer, I find it hard to admit I watch anime. I wouldn't go out of my way to say I'm not an anime fane, but I wouldn't mention it on eHarmony if you know what I mean. However, to confirm that there are cool people who watch anime, I wanted to find out which celebrity actually watch anime.

Conan O'Brian has mentioned on his show several times of Cowboy Bebop

Robin Williams has admitted to USA today "I collect Japanese anime.

tephen Spielberg has called the extended car chase from Lupin the 3rd: Cagliostro's Castle one of the best action scenes in the history of cinema, but I don't know how extensively familiar Mr. Spielberg is with anime.

Matrix directors Larry and Andy Wachowski are avowed anime fans.

In 2005 comedian and actor Robin Williams told the USA Today newspaper, "I collect a lot of Japanese anime."

Rock legend Glenn Danzig has been spotted at Anime Expo and is reportedly a devoted fan of Go Nagai's work. Mr. Danzig commissioned Madhouse to produce a pilot anime for his comic character Satanika.

The rock musician Matthew Sweet used anime footage from Space Adventure Cobra and Urusei Yatsura for two of his music videos a number of years ago.

French pop-music duo Daft Punk worked with Leiji Matsumoto to develop the musical anime film Interstella 5555.

Rap artist Kanye West is a confirmed anime fan. Hype Williams, the director of West's music video "Stronger" has confirmed that West was inspired by Akira to develop the concept for the music video.

There's an anime reference in the 1998 song "One Week" by the Barenaked Ladies.

There's James Cameron who is a huge fan of Battle Angel Alita.

Jonathan Ross is an outright fan of anime and japanese culture in general.

Guillermo del Toro (director: Blade II, Hellboy, Cronos, Pan's Labyrinth) is a huge anime fan and collector. (check out his collection in the background on the Blade II DVD extras) It inspires a lot of his films.

Masi Oka ("Heroes") based future Hiro off of Jotaro Kujo from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

Michael Bay said in several interviews about Transformers that he really likes anime movies.

Timbaland used anime in his stage show

Gwen Stephani is obviously versed in anime and manga because of Harajuku.

The creators of South Park are also avid anime fans

That's fairly incredible, but not particularly surprising. Anime does tend to be at least a tad more intelligent than Hollywood at any rate. That, and superior action does make it easy to latch onto and love.

I don't know any myself, but meh.

Anime's reach is far and wide. None can resist it. If only they stop with the dubbing, it would be perfect.

Now that I think about it, I'm sure many voice actors from Disney licenses are fans.

Mark Hammil, James Van Der Beek, Anna Paquin, Jason Marsden, Shia LaBeouf, Uma Thurman, Britney Snow, Michael Keaton, and a lot of Star Trek Next Generation cast is into anime too so Patrick Stewart is probably on that list.
