This isn't true. People still criticize the girls behind their backs or at least I do.

Im male, but Im not a guy.... Ive got a male body, but my heart, mind, and sole are all female... I call myself a girl, not a guy... and expect to be treated as a girl, its not my fault I was born in the wrong body, and thats hard enough to live with without people reminding me...

so I can wear girls clothes if I want cause I am one...
I really should have the female body anyway D;

I'm glad I always read the last post before commenting. I was about to say that it's all cool in my books, but the reason why you don't see guys dress like girls as often as girls dressing like guys is 'cause girls really do it for different reasons than guys...if you see a male dressed like a girl it's because he (or in your case little-mackey, she) has a really good reason to, while girls usually do it because it's either more comfortalbe or a statement to say "listen, I'm not one of those prissy girly girls, got it?" Most girls use it as a way of asserting their equality, and it's not as often that they are actually trans and wish to be viewed as male.

Now there's the odd gender-bender like myself, though I'm gonna admit my reasons are a little more selfish than most. I take a lot of pride in my femininity, though I kindof have a bit of an androgyny obsession, and I make an effort to buy clothes meant for women that still make people wonder if I'm really a girl or not (which is hard to do, since genetics has blessed me with an unmistakably female body) And although I wouldn't say I find it fun per se, I still enjoy turning everyday society on it's head every once in a while. In short, I'm not trans, but when someone has to ask, it gives me a little feeling of warmth, for some weird reason I can't really explain.

That said, I do give a mad kudos out to folks who actually have serious and life-changing reasons for cross-dressing, for not only are you incredibly brave for doing what feels right to you, but I must say, it shows an incredible amount of self-love that is often scarce in this day and age, and I commend you. Sometimes I get jealous simply because I am so indecisive in what I want, while folks who are trans are so sure that they can make that huge leap across genders. Then again, to each his own...I don't know that I would have it any other way, if that makes sense, heheh.

its always been like that, its like girls can experiment and not be called lesbians but guys cant. it more because girls are more open to feelings than guys. and if your a guy you be beaten the crap out of you by your mates

well, being a girl in a male body... I am the most open person about my feelings that I know... Im full of love and I just cant hide it xD and my friends are all girls because I feel more comfortable with them. they're loving and understanding like me, so I doubt they'd do anything to me ^^;

see if a masculine guy sees any male dressed as a girl, he would usually think of him as 'a guy dressed as a girl' and just assume he's gay without thinking about it. but Im completely straight, and Im not 'a guy dressed as a girl' ... Im 'a girl wearing girls clothes on a male body'

I love crossplay too, Im gonna get some really cute ones soon XD like the summer uniform from strawberry panic... maybe some gothic/gothic lolita dresses too... and I'll get like long blonde wigs and stuff =3

I think in general women can dress like men but not the other way around because it's a man's world. A while ago, it would have been just as socially awkward for a women to dress as a male, but because of women seeking to be on equal ground with men, and therefore having to fit in to their world, it is now more socially acceptable for women to dress like men. That doesn't mean that it is totally accepted, but more so than a man dressing as a women, because men never had to compete with women for equality in society. At least not in ours.

A man dressed feminine tends to give the impression of "what the hell" to people, but a women dressed masculine might not be appreciated but it's thought of as "another day in the neighborhood." People in general go through life putting things in boxes. That is because it's difficult to function with out them, however that also means that people are expected to come out as if from a cookie cutter; women are women, men are men, and there is no in between. Although now it seems that is becoming less so. More and more people are accepting of the fact that there aren't just two genders, two sexualities, and only two gender roles to fit into. Though it will take quite a while more before we get over it entirely.

Im a guy and some people say i dress like a girl.

If you're comfortable with your sexuality, you can dress however you like.

The mainstream is for suckers.

Don`t think too hard! if you are looking for a reason the answer is "Man`s pride." (it may also apply to women, but i wouldn`t know since im not)
