The years of women dressing up in men's clothes to obtain gender equality have made it acceptable. But sadly, it's a double edge sword since now it's an even greater taboo for a male to wear women's clothes since it is seen as a weakness.

This is the reason I hate feminist and love gays. Feminist have done more to destroy femininity in the last century than men by empowering women to be more like men. Gays on the other hand empower both femininity and masculinity by proving you can still wear a skirt and kick ass or be a guy who wears designer clothes and run a fortune 500 company.

I've heard this described once as another manifestation of misogyny in our society.
It's okay, in fact encouraged, for a woman to want to be more like a man.
However, it is seen as lowly and pathetic for a man to want to be like a woman.

Because us guys find a type of security in knowing that the majority of us can relate in the way we dress, think, act, and speak. Change any of those and you suddenly fall out of the social circle. It's then called wierd, retarded, gay, or feminist.

It's unfair, cruel, and not very civilized but its the cold, hard truth that hides deep in our subconscious.

Girls, however, we tend to have a broad array of things to like about. Many of us like a rebel that says "FUCK YOU SOCIAL RULES!!1!" and decides to dress more like us... well, without looking too butch, but that line is pretty obvious - you have to actually try to cross it. We like girls that dress, think, act, and speak uniquely.

Everything from a slightly eccentric dress style, a unique hairstyle, or even just an out-of-the-ordinary way of speaking - it all clicks a lot of interest. Yes, some have preferences. It's just how we are as guys.

At least, that's how I see it.

I guess for men girls fashion is complicated even without all the short, revealing and tight clothes

Edit: If guys want to dress like girls then there's a huge and ever changing fashion world to navigate around and there's all the prejudice and societal pressures to overcome.
If girls want to dress like guys then they are basically challenging that huge fashion world with all it's pressures and expectations and opting for a comfortable and much more basic style.

Oh my, that one blonde girls ankles are showing. Is that even legal?

Because when girls dress like guys, they still look like straight girls.

If guys can dress like girls and still look like straight guys, then heck, go for it!

Why do either of them have to 'look straight?'

It's insufficient to be 'be' straight? people have to 'look straight' as well? and why.. well.. why?

I agree, especially when they're comfortable in their own skin. Beautiful people.

And men just wear the clothes they wear because they adhere to society norms, and to the notion that deviation is impropriety and scandalous in the eyes of many. LOL

I can understand being attaracted to someone's character;but, there are limits....I wouldn't touch a 400 pound women in a leotard for example. granted God's word says I'm only supposed to have sex with my wife. I wouldn't marry a woman that weighed that much anyway. I would help her get into shape by following a spartan workout practice.

I'd put it all down to shape, women's clothing is typically tailored specifically to the form of the female body which is markedly different to a male body... Mens clothing is typically not tailored to be form fitting in the same way, so when a man wears women's clothing they look strange to most people.

The reason a woman can look and be perfectly normal looking in most men's clothing is because it is not meant to be very noticably form fitting. However, as a contrast a woman in a male dress suit would look similarly strange as would a man in a dress, that is specifically connected to sexual dimorphism.

Personally I have no problem with bright, decorative and flamboyant clothing on men, just so long as it was actually meant to be worn by a man. That said, noting on guys looking 'pretty' or 'prettier' than girls in women's clothing is more to do with aspects of androgyne being either acceptable or encouraged by certain social groups.

At least that's my take on it.

We guys don't have to wear a shirt and it's fine, but a girl will get judge or society wouldn't allow it, and that's how life works people
