Official Wang Zheng told AFP news agency the car park was meant to cater to women's "strong sense of colour and different sense of distance".

Feminists everywhere must be flailing verbal insults right about now. This is just so rich.

The parking bays are one metre (3ft) wider than normal spaces, he said.

You know, you could fit two cars in that kind of space, now. D:

The Wanxiang-Tiancheng shopping centre had also "installed signs and security monitoring equipment that corresponded more to women's needs", he said.

Women need security... riiiight.

The Global Times website says female parking attendants have been trained to help guide women drivers into their parking spaces. The bays also have extra lighting.

Women already have a "different sense of distance" to begin with, and you want them to help other women park? D:

Man, flo... I miss your threads. This was a good read.

Not really sexist. It is good to have variation. And yes, usually men drive faster and dangerious while women slow and safe. But I still can't figure out why old ladies driving Nissan Micra's swear at me so much when I drive past them.

I said it sounded sexist, there's a difference.
My uncle drives way worse than my aunt dose. I always fear for my life when I drive with him.

I do know the difference. The way the news is communicated by sites try to portray it as sexist. This was the first impression for many of the people I told the news and met. Hence my comment is not target at you but the readers in general.

In my family the trophy of dangerous driving switches genders with every generation. Grandfather was the man in his days but then he was overtaken by my mum, but now it is me.

*snigger*
Yeah, somehow can't see a women's rights group getting very far trying to take this to court over there
Hell, maybe they have bigger things to worry about other than "Oooh you can't do/say/think that, it's sexist!"
